YouTube Sunday #24

Happy Sunday folks! I hope it’s a good one whatever you are doing. It looks like rain today so the perfect day to sit down and watch some YouTube! I absolutely love all your half term videos last week. It’s our half term this week and I’m writing this from a little holiday lodge we are staying in while the children run around. There’s something relaxing about being on holiday that means the things that annoy you at home (like mess and chaos) don’t bother me here!

If you are new to this linky, it goes live every Sunday morning and you can link up any video you like, old or new. You can link directly to the video or the blog post, it’s up to you. If you have embedded your video into a blog post feel free to add the badge to raise awareness of the linky. Please do continue to like and comment on other people’s videos and share them on social media too.

I promise to watch and share on social media every one of your videos. It would be great if you could watch and comment and thumbs up a few others in the link up – that’s how we share the love! Remember that commenting on other videos is not only a nice thing to do for a fellow vlogger, but it’s also a great way of advertising your channel, as other commenters will see your name. And no one likes a link dumper 😉

A new thing I thought I would try is sharing a TOP TIP for YouTube every week. If you have any tips to keep us going, leave me a comment below so I can share them.

This week’s tip comes from the lovely Ali at Incredibusy. She says…

A top tip is to let the video you are watching play through to the end, because that counts toward a view for the author, and a thumbs up and encouraging comment always helps too… rather than a click and run!

As I said, I loved all the half term videos last week, and there were so many great videos to choose from, I found it so difficult! Here is my favourite from Jenny Paulin though, this video was just beautiful and I love all the drone shots. I’d love to go to Sweden one day it looks amazing.

Here is this week’s link up. Link up a video and take a look at some others. I’ve been gaining quite a few  subscribers since starting this linky and I hope that you have too.

My top tip is to organised your channel into playlist a – it’s far more visually appealing for visitors and makes it much easier for them to find something they want to watch. Furthermore if you then share your video from within a playlist they may continue to watch whatever comes up next instead of being led to someone else’s channel.

Thanks Ali, and I hope you come home from holidays relaxed and rejuvenated and you don’t loose that feeling too quickly!
I love the tip idea, and think the first one is super important, it makes such a difference to the YouTube analytics to let it play through.

My tip is to leave a like. If one can’t do it on content or topic, then do it for effort lol. It makes a difference to the exposure of the video and is an encouragement to those who’ve put time and effort into making it.

I like Colette’s tip above, and would also agree it is super helpful. It also allows you to promote it an extra time, if your channel is set up to post to Twitter when you add a video to a play list. I tend to do it a couple of days later so that it gives it extra exposure.

Hope you have a good week.
