10 Surprising Reasons Why Moms Should Code

    Jul 21, 2022 · Modified: May 25, 2023 by Ali · Leave a Comment

    Colab post

Ask any program developer or coder why anybody should code, and the list will be long. But for moms, coding is a career with many rewards that the average coder or program developer that isn't a mom can see.

If you are a mom thinking of a second career or even just getting into the game at all, coding and program development could be a serious calling for you. One blockchain or AI course will have you hooked.

Do you love tech? Learn how it works and become the coolest mom at every party. Look at 10 more reasons why moms should code.

    1. It's a Real Calling

Moms know what a true calling for work really means. There are jobs you get up to do because you have to and jobs that make your heart sing. Coding is a field that many moms find their hearts singing at. That is because they can find their own way, usually on their own time, and really make the career their own.

    2. It's a Versatile Trade

There is so much diversity here in this trade. That means that there is a lot of choices that can be made when you are choosing your career. You also aren't always necessarily locked into one option. Every day that you spend in coding you will be able to consider what the next stage of your career will be. It's a concept in the field that makes it exciting to be here.

    3. You Don't Always Need Childcare

Coding and program development is a field where many jobs are remote now. Many of the big tech companies still have their workers at home after the pandemic. Programmers are among the first to get to stay home when any return to the office plan begins. Still, there are jobs that are not in the office. If you want a remote job where your kids can stay home with you, coding is an excellent field to consider.

    4. Built-In Problem Solving Work

You are already a multi-tasker that can get more done in an hour than many can in a day. You are always solving problems and making decisions to do that. Coding and program development is exactly that. You are one of the official problem solvers of some of the biggest companies in the world when you are a coder. That's a nice thing to think about when they are munching on peanut butter and jam.

    5. Let Your Creativity Shine

When you are a mom, you are always stretching that outside-of-the-box genius-level thinking. Being creative may not be why you go into coding, but it may be why you stay in coding. You always have to be thinking of something new and different. Everything you look at online, for example, is the result of coding. That robot arm that fixes you during surgery is Artificial Intelligence which is developed by coders. This is a tech world you get to be creative in.

    6. It's an Affordable Career to Start

When you are thinking about coding as a career, the upfront investment in time and money can feel daunting. But it's not. If you want to be in AI, there are courses for every budget and time limit. This is the case for every branch of coding and program development. This is an affordable career to start in both time and money.

    7. You Can Expand on Current Talents

It's easy to think that you won't be smart enough for program developing, but you are, mom. You have built-in talents like anybody else and can find the perfect place for them in coding. We won't know what they are, but you will. Every industry on the planet needs coders. Start looking at courses, and you will feel what we mean.

    8. Support is Everywhere

The world of coding is like a tree where every branch depends on another one. This makes support for every job necessary. You are always going to be asked for help, and you will always be asking for help. It is not just an amazing perk to have some genius at the end of your phone in seconds helping you change the world a little bit. It has to be there because you're changing the world a little bit.

    9. Coding is Metric Based and Incentivised

That may get your attention if nothing else does. Again, coding and tech jobs have to be. That is because the success of the innovation at hand depends on your success. No pressure! It's intensely rewarding, and you get rewarded for it.

    10. Speaking of Rewarding

Yes, coding sounds like a boring job that only geeks can handle, but it's bigger than that. You are solving problems every day in your daily programming job, but you are also going to be solving other people's everyday problems. AI development is just one example. It could have been a mom that developed FaceID for your favorite smartphone. Who doesn't want to go through their career noting that? Try it!

    Try Coding Today

If you are thinking of doing something different in your career, know that there are many reasons to get into programming and coding technology. You probably thought of 10 more reasons while you were reading this today. Research coding courses today, and that magic touch of genius will find you too.
