Hi! I'm Ali - a work at home mum to two girls and two boys (15, 11, 8 and 3). I have been a freelance writer of some description for 11 years now and I love every minute of it. I started blogging properly in 2012 after the birth of my second daughter and in 2016 We Made This Life was born. You can read all about why I chose the name here. I am proud to call myself a professional blogger and I regularly make over £3000 a month profit which is amazing as I can manage to do that and spend lots of time at home with my children. I wanted to create a space where I could not only record our family memories but where I could also inspire others to create beautiful happy lives for their family. Parenting is hard. It's one of the steepest learning curves I've been on and it can be really lonely, even in this age where we live and share so much online. I'd scroll through facebook and browse blogs and it seemed to me that people were either finding life difficult and vocalising that, desperately calling for help or at the other extreme there was the perfect mums, the perfect families who were always happy and smiling. Nowhere was there something in the middle - ordinary families trying to make their way. Struggling through the hard times trying to get to the good times.
I desperately want to create a wonderful life for my children and my family but I recognise that life doesn't always work like that. We have to weather the bad and the difficult to appreciate the good parts. I want to embrace these moments as well as the great ones. I want you to see happy, smiling pictures of my family, but I also want you to read about the struggles and how we have overcome them. I want you to leave this blog feeling inspired. I want to have been able to help you in some way, whether that be helping you find the perfect Valentines gift for your partner or Christmas gift for your daughter, or finding the perfect boots for the school run, showing you a great recipe, inspire you with interiors or even helping you to start your own blog and work from home.
So this blog is my personal dairy and also I hope your future inspiration. It's an aspirational family lifestyle blog - where life isn't perfect but we try every day to make it as great as we can.
