While moving into your new home can feel amazing, it can be overwhelming when you have to decorate. When decorating your home, you want it to reflect your personality and feel comfortable- especially when you spend more time at home. You must consider so many factors to be sure your space is yours! So how do you personalise your home? Here are four ways to make your house feel like home.

    Choose the right furniture

When working on your floor plans, you want to choose sofas, chairs and tables that add to the overall style you are creating. The placing of these furniture pieces also affects the style you're trying to create. For example, you can place your sofa and coffee tables around your fireplace or go for a sectional sofa if you want your space to feel less formal. However, you want to consider the height of your seats. It is best to have your lounge chairs and sofas at similar heights. Generally, lower seats offer a more casual and laid back feel, while higher seats come up as more formal.

    Treat your walls

Paintings are notorious for creating different hues when exposed to different light conditions. For this reason, you don't want to choose colours based on only the previews you get in the store. Instead, paint large samples of your preferred colour on your walls or on boards to move around and see them at different times of the day. This way, you won't have to be scared when choosing bold, saturated colours to paint an entire room. You can also consider your ceiling colours, whether to go with the same colour as your walls or choose white for a crisp feel.

Create a story with your photos

Photos are an amazing way to fill your home with happy memories. You can tell your life's emotional and exciting moments through the images of you and your loved ones. Creating a story with your photos can be a unique way to personalise your home interior. There are several ways you can do this - arrange your photo souvenirs or smaller framed photos on your walls or hang large poster-size photos. Your home is your castle, and you want to personalise it with your old and new photos.

    Style your bathroom

Your bathroom space is a great place to personalise in your home. You can add some personality to this space with some statement wallpaper. While the bath may be the less-used space in your home, it can be an excellent space to try some bold colours and patterns. You can also add a bath mat, towel art, or create an arrangement with your hand soap and toothbrushes. Additionally, wet rooms are becoming increasingly popular in the UK, so you may want to check this guide if you are planning a wetroom for your home.

Decorating your home is essential since it affects everything from personality to style, confidence and productivity if you are working from home. Go ahead and consider these tips to transform your home and make it feel like you.
