7 Ways to Refresh your Bathroom for Spring

    collaborative post

Spring is the perfect time of year to give your bathroom a refresh. From decluttering to upgrading the taps and shower, the bathroom experts, BigBathroomShop.co.uk , share seven ways to take your bathroom from drab to fab this spring.

    Upgrade the shower & taps

Replacing the shower head and fitting new taps will instantly transform the look of your bathroom. With some DIY experience, replacing the bath and sink taps is quite a straightforward job.

Taps come in so many styles to enhance any bathroom design. When choosing new taps make sure they complement the style of your bathroom. Cross-head taps are perfect for traditional bathrooms, while waterfall taps are a great choice for enhancing a spa-style space.

Even replacing an old shower head can freshen up the look of the room too. Choose a rainfall shower head so you can enjoy a refreshing showering experience, or fit a new hand shower for a quick and easy update.

    Clean and declutter

A thorough clean and declutter has got to be one of the easiest ways to refresh your bathroom. If the shower curtain has seen better days, think about replacing it with a glass bath screen, which will also enhance a sense of space and create a cleaner look.

It's also a good idea to get rid of anything that hasn't been used in ages and only keep what you need stored away in a vanity unit or mirrored cabinet.

If you lack storage space, it's worth replacing the basin with a vanity unit. This combines a sink and cabinet into one handy unit so you can keep toiletries stored away yet easily accessible.

If fitting a vanity unit is not an option, you could keep toiletries organised in wicker baskets instead.

    Update the accessories

It's surprising how new matching accessories such as a toilet roll holder, soap dish and towel rail can update the look of your bathroom with little effort. For a fresh, modern look, choose accessories in a chrome finish, which will easily blend in with other fixtures in the bathroom.

    Replace the light fixture

A new light fixture will smarten up any bathroom. When looking for a new light, make sure it's suitable for use in the bathroom, and that it features energy saving LED technology to help keep electric bills low. You could make a statement with a chandelier or keep things sleek and minimal with spotlights.

    New towels

Old scruffy towels can really drag the look of your bathroom down, so invest in a new set of quality towels and a matching bath mat to spruce the space up. Towels provide a simple yet effective way to add colour and pattern to the bathroom. Floral patterns are great for adding a vintage touch, while neutral colours enhance a sense of calm and relaxation.

    A fresh coat of paint

A fresh coat of paint will work wonders in any bathroom. For an up-to-date look, paint the walls a new colour or choose white for a minimalistic look that's fresh and clean. If the walls and tiles are white, a pop of colour can easily be introduced to liven the space up.

    Introduce some art

Art is perfect for adding some individual style and personality to your bathroom. Hang a single eye-catching piece or create a gallery wall to make a statement.
