    A Family Photo - May 2018

    May 31, 2018 by Ali · 4 Comments

May ended up being such a glorious month didn't it! We were so lucky with the weather and I remembered just how much I love sunshine! Having good weather makes such a huge difference and I managed to get some gorgeous photos of my lot!

This year I wanted to get a family photo of us all in the yellow rapeseed fields. Around this time of year my family start to get frustrated with me dragging them out on photo opportunities - the blossom, the bluebells and now the rapeseed fields! Nevertheless they all bundled into the car so we could go and take some photos. We knew where to go and headed off in good spirits. It was warm so the kids had a bottle of water in the back with them to keep them hydrated. All of a sudden Little Boy started to cough and then was sick all over himself. Cue panic in the car, the girls were screaming and crying to get out and Little Boy wasn't too happy either! We were nearly at the fields but we pulled over and assessed the situation. It would seem that Little Boy had eaten a piece of plastic off the drinks bottle and choked on it and been sick. The damage was too great so we were forced to go back home to clean him up and get him changed.

We nearly didn't go back out but I think everyone just wanted to get these photos over and done with! So we cleaned the car, washed and changed Little Boy and headed back out! The nightmare didn't end there though, when we got to the place where the fields are we discovered that they had already been harvested! Luckily we found a small patch of yellow flowers nearby and that had to do! I think we still managed to get a nice photo though!

I hope that June is just as sunny and also that getting a family photo isn't so much of a trauma!

Great photo and it definitely worth it dragging your family to those yellow fields. I used to do the same, but now my teenagers refused to pose for mummy. They prefer selfies with friends

Aw! I need to have a family photo done, too. It's been too long. We seem to only do one in the fall for Christmas. 🙁

It does really look like a beautiful photo there. It's great that even if things didn't go as planned, you were still able to get a great photo.
