Back to School - September 2015

    Sep 4, 2015 by Ali · 2 Comments

My Facebook page today was full of little people in their new uniforms. Bright and shiny and excited for their day ahead and the start of a new year in school.

Today was extra special for us because JB started full time school. She was so excited to go to Reception she has talked about it all summer. I thought maybe there would be some nerves when the time came though but no - she hopped, skipped and jumped through the gate. She didn't want me to accompany her to the classroom as other parents are allowed to do in the first week, she proudly went in with her big sister, who protectively put her arm around her.

I watched them turn the corner and not look back and fought back a tear. My little girl has grown up. I'm excited for her - it feels like the end of babyhood, of those short, special years she has spent with me, and now she is ready to go into the little world of school and open up her eyes and mind to so much more.

It is the start of a long, happy and successful life for her I hope.

What a cute pair. It's so emotional isn't it? The husband laughs at my rapid reduction to tears. Just wait until the Christmas shows! Did you manage to hold it together?
