Family Wedding Outfit Tips and Tricks

    Jul 4, 2017 · Modified: Jul 3, 2022 by Ali · Leave a Comment

As you know I am a big fan of weddings. They are a great chance to spend time together as a family, doing something that everyone enjoys. Because you are all having a good time, and are dressed smartly, the photos are some of the best you will ever take. I was browsing through some from the wedding we attended early last year, in Bath. They brought back some lovely memories.

Part of the reason I like them so much is that we all look so stylish in them. Treating everyone to special outfits is part of the fun, but shopping for them can be tricky, so I thought a shopping tips post might help.

    Shop on the High Street

My first tip is to forget the specialist shops, at least to start with. Instead, visit your local shopping centre. These days, quite a few retailers stock occasion wear for the whole family. You can see some great examples of what is available, right now, by clicking this link. As you can see it is not hard to buy great looking clothes without spending a fortune.

    Start shopping early

Usually you know that you will be attending a wedding several months in advance. This is great because it means that you can start the shopping process early, and take advantage of any special offers that you see. Provided the kids are not going through too much of a growth spurt this approach works well. It takes the pressure off, and can save you a lot of money.

Check out what you already own

Before you go shopping take the time to go through everyone´s wardrobe and see if there is anything that they already own that could be worn for the wedding. It is unlikely, that you will be able to put together a complete outfit for every member of the family using this approach. But, the chances are you already own nice shoes, accessories and maybe a jacket that would be perfect for the occasion.

    Borrow some of the accessories

If the wedding comes at a time when money is particularly tight, consider asking friends if you can borrow some. This approach could save you the expense of buying a new handbag and costume jewellery.

Put the little ones in a comfortable outfit

Try not to spend a fortune on outfits for very young children. Usually, they are going to only be able to wear it once, and in all likelihood they will get a bit dirty at the reception. No matter what you say kids will be kids. They will spend a lot of time tearing around with the other children, inevitably messing up their outfit in the process.

    Where to get inspiration

Going online, and doing some research, before you go shopping makes a lot of sense. It gives you some idea of what is available, so you can narrow down your options and not waste hours looking for something that is not widely available. If when you try to think about what everyone is going to wear your mind goes blank, visit this web page . Use the links at the top of the page to view 25 images at a time. There are hundreds of ideas available on that board, so you should be able to get several good ideas.
