Four of the Most Exciting Nootropics in 2025

    Oct 21, 2025 by Ali · Leave a Comment

Nootropics represent one of the most interesting areas of health and longevity. There are hundreds of different types available, each boasting a range of intriguing effects, and no matter what area of health someone's looking to improve, there's likely ongoing research into a substance that will help.

With so many studies currently underway, it can be confusing for a newcomer to understand what's what. To get you started, in this article, you'll learn about four of the most exciting nootropics currently being researched today.

    1. Coluracetam

The racetam family of nootropics is the most popular across the board with researchers and consumers alike. Known for their potent effects on cognition and focus, our understanding of them is continually improving, and it's clear that the current body of research is only scratching the surface.

These types of nootropics are thought to help the brain pull in more choline into neurons, and researchers believe one can enhance memory with coluracetam - one of the newer types in the catagory. However, most racetams haven't become mainstream drugs yet and are not FDA approved (so you should only purchase them for research purposes).

    2. Phenylpiracetam

Another racetam making waves is phenylpiracetam. Thought to improve cognition and focus as well as enhance physical performance, this variant is considered dual-acting.

Many consider it the gold-standard racetam for its ability to improve both mental and physical functioning, making it popular amongst athletes as well as those who need a boost during demanding cognitive tasks. It has been noticed to have side-effects of anxiety and insomnia in some people, however.

    3. Noopept

Noopept has been around for some time now, but it's still one of the most talked about nootropics of all. Current research is focused on its potential for increasing neuroplasticity via BDNF/NGF modulation, and it's said to offer users the mental clarity they need to perform in a wide variety of tasks.

Given the nuroplastic benefits, it may also protect the brain from cognitive decline, but more research is require to understand just how potent these effects are.

    4. Fasoractam

Fasoracetam has piqued people's interest for its supposed ability to act favorably on the neurotransmitter systems of the brain. It was initially created as a potential aid for individuals experiencing cognitive impairment, and it's praised for its wide-ranging effects on various areas of the body, enhancing mood, energy, and alertness.

There's currently a lot of research underway to determine how a supplement can be created that focuses fasoractam's benefits into a direct line of treatment for conditions like ADHD. Still, its approval for use in humans is thought to be a way off.

    Wrapping Up

The field of nootropics is a broad one, with the world's best scientists currently working hard to connect the dots and piece together viable treatments.

While many are not currently FDA approved (meaning you shouldn't purchase those that are not with the intention of consuming them), that will change one day. When it does, the topic of health and longevity is likely to expand beyond our wildest dreams.
