Being a busy working mum can take its toll on your health and wellbeing. When everyone needs your time and attention, and you have a to-do list longer than your arm, it is easy to feel stressed out and overwhelmed. As a parent, there are always jobs that need to be done, and the pressure you face can seem relentless. But, neglecting your health and wellbeing is not the answer. Putting your needs last and always being on the go can mean your stress levels are constantly high.

Feeling continually stressed can lead to chronic stress, which can seriously impact your health. So, taking steps to actively reduce your stress levels is essential. But, with only 24 hours in each day, you may be wondering how on earth you will reduce your stress levels while still getting everything done. While removing all the stress and busyness from your life would be impossible, there are ways you can lower your stress levels and feel better. Take a look at these stress-relieving tips to help you get started:

Nourish Yourself With the Right Foods

Making healthy food choices is a must when trying to protect your health and wellbeing. Choosing the right foods can even help to improve your mental health and help you think more clearly, which is good news if you are trying to reduce your stress levels. One meal many mums miss is breakfast, as mornings are often the most hectic time of the day. If you tend to skip breakfast and usually just snack in the mornings after the school run, you may be missing out on vital nutrients. Instead, it is essential to eat breakfast, even if it means you prepare it in advance. Having a breakfast such as overnight oats using growli is a great way to get a nutritious, hassle-free breakfast every morning.

    Get Some Fresh Air

Getting out into the fresh air is an excellent way to soothe your mind and calm your stress levels. So, heading out to a green space such as the local park for a run or taking the dog for a walk in the woods is a really useful way to let go of stressful feelings and to return home feeling refreshed. Even spending time outside in the garden while the kids are playing can positively impact your mood and help calm a frazzled mind.

    Don't do it All Alone

Many parents find their most significant source of stress is not taking care of the kids but all the other jobs they need to do on top of this. Tidying, cooking, cleaning, and laundry can become never-ending tasks, but you don't need to do everything yourself. Encouraging the family to work as a team and getting everyone to play a part in running the home, however small, is really helpful. Getting the kids to help with basic tasks such as pairing socks or laying the table can help you feel like you are not doing everything on your own.
