The Ultimate Guide to Exploring the Spanish Islands

When you think of Spain, what comes to mind first? For most people, it's probably the mainland. But don't forget, this magnificent country has a number of islands connected to it as well, including Menorca, Ibiza, Majorca, and more.

These are gorgeous places to visit, and if you are going to the Spanish islands, whether you opt for the Balearics or the Canaries, you really don't want to miss out on anything. That's why we've put together this handy guide to help you make the most of your time there.

    Go On A Cruise

One of the ultimate ways to explore the Spanish islands has to be on a cruise, and P&O Cruises offer the perfect example of how to enjoy yourself in this part of the world. The beauty of a cruise is that you don't have to make a choice about which island to call home for your holiday - you get to see and experience them all.

On top of that, you also have the wonderful cruise ship and all its fantastic amenities to enjoy when you're not exploring the stunning scenery and tourist sites. It's the best of all worlds rolled into one package.

    Make A Wish List

No matter which of the Spanish islands you choose to visit, you'll find there are plenty of sites to see and places to go. This is why it's crucial you make yourself a wish list of the things you need to take a look at before you even leave home.

Take some time to investigate what the island you're visiting has to offer and determine which of the sights you want to see in real life. List them in priority of what you want to do just in case time gets away from you and you can't do everything you set out to do. If you can, book some attractions in advance since this can often lead to cheaper prices, allowing your holiday budget to go a lot further.

What's The Purpose Of Your Trip?

Not all Spanish islands are the same (that's what makes them so special and exciting to visit), and it might be that what you want out of your holiday can be better achieved in one place compared to another. Determine what the main purpose of your trip is, and then you can match the island you should go to it.

For example, if you want to party, Ibiza is the perfect place to go (although bear in mind that there are two sides to Ibiza, and the less well-known side is much quieter and is actually a great place for families). For an exceptional experience, consider a boat hire in Ibiza to explore its beautiful coastline and hidden coves. This is part of the quieter sides of the island. If you want to enjoy some of the best beaches, it could be that Mallorca is a better option. For stunning natural scenery, it has to be Lanzarote, which is home to Timanfaya National Park and its colourful sand. There will be an island that suits you no matter what you want to get out of a holiday, and all it takes is some research beforehand to ensure you pick the right spot.
