Tips For Limiting Your Weekly Cleaning Time

    Feb 8, 2023 · Modified: Jul 17, 2023 by Ali · Leave a Comment

    Colab post

Cleaning your house throughout the week gets super boring and super exhausting. You're there dusting and vacuuming and washing out the sink, all for these same areas to get dirty again tomorrow. When does it end?! Sometimes it feels like you spend your whole life cleaning, outside of working and raising your family, and you're sick and tired of wasting so much time doing it. We don't blame you! It's why we've listed a few helpful tips below for keeping your home hygienic whilst cutting back on at least half the time you spend cleaning it.

    Keep Antibacterial Materials Everywhere

You don't have to traipse to the kitchen cupboard every time you need to clean - just keep items around wherever you are! Buy in bulk, make sure there's a packet of wipes in a drawer in every room, and then make sure there's a bin nearby too. If you notice something dirty that needs cleaning up, like the TV top or the coffee table after a spillage, you can do the job in seconds and then sit back down to enjoy your break again.

    Do Laundry Once a Week

If you've got a big family, laundry once a week can sound like it's not enough. But if you save it up for as long as possible, you won't be sorting through laundry for an hour or more per day!

If you've got a big family, doing laundry once a week can sound like it's not enough. You might want to save up your laundry for as long as possible. Not only does this help you avoid sorting through laundry for an hour or more per day, but it also allows you to dedicate a specific day to tackle the accumulated load. As for deep clearing other areas of the house, You can also ask for help by having biweekly or monthly cleaning services from companies such as UrbanMop. The general services offered by such companies are general cleaning services that involve looking after every aspect of your home, such as sanitizing kitchen appliances, wiping the blinds, etc. that usually can take hours for homeowners.

Plus, the bigger the load, the less laundry sanitiser you'll use, and the less time throughout the week you need to keep the washing machine and tumble dryer on. Wash on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays only to keep your laundry cycle to a minimum. Not only does that save you time, but it also saves you money!

Have a Cloth Available Whenever Cooking

If there's a cloth there on the counter next to you, or in your back pocket, you can wipe up a bit of spilled sauce or some onion juice ASAP. No need to leave it all for later after dinner, or to leave for the kids to sort out because you're too tired at the end of the day. It's clean and tidy in the moment, and you'd be surprised at just how much wiping-as-you-go helps to cut your kitchen cleaning time in half!

    Spritz Air Fresheners Regularly

They don't just cover up the smell these days, they actually help to deal with it too! They can 'neutralise' bad smells no matter where they're coming from, as long as it's not a missed pet poop in a boot or a bag of smelly rubbish that needs taking to the bin outside.

Just buy a bottle of spray next time you're at the supermarket and use it liberally. Spray the toilet, the kitchen, the living room, and the hallway. Any particles living in the carpets or behind the sink will soon be gobbled up by the fresh new smell!

If cleaning is getting on top of you, cut it back with small changes like these.
