Out of the many types of flooring available for your home, engineered wooden flooring has many benefits which tend to outweigh the advantages of other types of flooring. From its durability and sustainability to the pricing and compatibility, it becomes easier to make the choice about which flooring is better suited to your needs. Here are some detailed reasons why engineered wood of flooring might be the best fit for you.

    Suitability

One of the core advantages of engineered wood flooring is that it is incredibly versatile. The fact that it can be used in (almost) every room allows you to have the same flooring throughout the house - if that is your preference - making it easier to buy in bulk and get a good deal.

This type of flooring cannot be used outside and in toilets and bathrooms due to the high moisture levels but do not let this concern you as the quality of engineered wood can withstand possible water damage.

    Better than Hardwood

Due to engineered hardwood being able to withstand water damage is a great feature to consider if you are in an ultimatum between solid hardwood and engineered wood. Solid hardwood can split and warp when faced with water damage making it difficult to maintain in the event of an increase in moisture levels. Along with these advantages, engineered hardwood also has many benefits similar to solid hardwood. For example, the wood is natural in texture and can be modified to suit your own needs - such as colour and finishing. It is also cheaper!

    Durability

Engineered wood is often strengthened for higher protection against damage like scratches, scuffs, and dents. This makes it highly durable and everlasting which can, in turn, increase the value of your home in the long run.

Depending on where you're choosing to lay your engineered hardwood, the fact that the flooring is less prone to damage means you can suit your home to your needs and requirements. It is also compatible for underfloor heating, making those colder months a little easier for the whole family.

    Easy to Clean

Saving the best for last, one of the core benefits we can all appreciate is that engineered hardwood flooring is easy to clean which can be favourable for everyone and especially those with younger children. Hardwood flooring can be well maintained if you stick to the core rule surrounding wooden flooring - cleaning up spillages as soon as they are noticed. Clean up liquids and dirt with a wet cloth, sponge, or mop and dry afterwards. Follow this rule of thumb and your flooring can last a very long time.

The endless benefits of engineered flooring can make the choice of what type of flooring to get easier for you.  The quality of engineered hardwood alongside its durability will allow it to last longer in your home allowing you to spend your money elsewhere in the future.
