A Back to School Shopping List

    Jul 29, 2015 · Modified: Jun 17, 2024 by Ali · 2 Comments

We've done a week and a half of the summer holidays already and before we know it we'll be back to school. I'm planning on being prepared for September so we're already working on our back to school shopping list.

The girls have their own ideas on what they 'need' for heading back to school, and I have a list of essentials too. This year (as it seems like every year) not much still fits so it's quite a big list!! I also tend to buy some basic essentials at the same time, such as knickers, vests and socks just so that I know we have enough for the months ahead. Here is what we will be buying. For us it will be times two - I have two little ones to buy for this year! It will give you an idea of what you need if your little one is starting school this September

    • Knickers
    • Vests (this year Bean wants bra style crop tops!!)
    • White knee high socks
    • Grey tights
    • 2 grey dresses (although Bean wants trousers!)
    • 2 short sleeve white shirts
    • 2 school cardigans
    • Plimsoles for PE
    • T-shirt and shorts for PE
    • Raincoat
    • Winter coat (luckily last year's still fit!)
    • Black school shoes
    • Hair accessories (these disappear every year into the black hole of hairbands!)
    • Lunchbox
    • Water bottle
    • Rucksack / school bag
    • Stationary

Phew that's quite a list!! The girls and I mostly agree on what we need for school, although bra style crop tops and the trousers instead of a dress are a little bit in contention! Although Jelly Baby did try to convince me that these minion goggles were 'essential'...

It's insane how much children need just to go to school! I do agree with your little one though, those goggles are fab 😉 I always spent hours fussing over the pencil case I wanted and I was never ever happy with it once I was actually in school! #Sharewithme
