A Pre-Teen Bedroom
I've promised to keep sharing snippets of our home as we continue the renovations. I recently wrote about Little Miss J's bedroom makeover, if you missed it you can read it here.
Bean is a self-confessed tom-boy and wanted her whole room to be blue. Not convinced that this phase would last forever I suggested a compromise and she chose an aqua colour which I didn't love at first but now I really like.
As you can see we decorated the walls with vinyl cloud stickers - these were a gift from her god-mother. I really like them and they really work with the room.
The bed is from Next and is part of her old bunk bed. The bedding she has on here is also from Next I believe and came from the old house.
Beside the bed is a bedside table from Ikea which has all her trophies, books and hides her jewellery case.
This might be the neatest that her desk has ever looked! She is a self-confessed stationary addict and her favourite shop is Smiggle!
The desk and chair are both from Ikea as are the little pots to store pens. The magazine rack is from Sainsburys.
The rug is from B&Q and matches her blind and lightshade which is nice and brings an extra dimension of colour into the room. The floorboards are painted white. We did these ourselves and you can read the tutorial here.
An Ikea Kallax storage system and boxes hides a lot of toys and gives her somewhere to store all her books. On the top she keeps lego models that she has built, Sylvanian families and her hamster Nibbles!
A storage box from WH Smith hides little bits and pieces such as hairbands, sunglasses and the box on top contains her make up (!!). The chest of drawers we brought from our old house and I decoupaged with wallpaper and painted.
You can have a proper look and see the live room tour over on my YouTube channel.
