Feeling Beautiful Is Looking Beautiful - Here's Why

    Oct 13, 2021 · Modified: Sep 20, 2022 by Ali · Leave a Comment

    Colab post

Many people consider social media to be harmful in terms of the narratives and images promoted by unrealistic body types and influential figures editing their photographs. This is a good point to raise, because often, putting forth an image of idealized beauty is not only damaging to the self-esteem of younger girls, but it makes people feel the need to look comically unrealistic to the point where common standards seem to dry up.

But it's important to state that you can never find a sense of beauty validation on social media, no matter how many likes you yet. What matters is finding it within yourself. Looking beautiful is feeling beautiful, and vice versa. Learning this can take a lifetime, but it needn't have to.

Additionally, learning to love how you look means accepting yourself for who you are, improving what you'd like to, accepting what you can't change, loving your perceived flaws, and celebrating how unique you are. In this post, we hope to discuss all that and more, and hopefully help you feel more confident in who you are and why you're so powerful:

Accepting You For Who You Are

Accepting you for who you are can sound like a very difficult piece of advice to accept and adopt. After all, many of us think that we'll accept ourselves when we finally hit that weight goal, or when we deal with those stretch marks, or when we change our hair color, or a whole range of other considerations that always put this goal in the distance. Accepting yourself for who you are today, however, is essential if we hope to reach a better point. This means forgiving your perceived flaws, heightening your strengths, and practicing self-care in how you treat yourself and allow others to treat you. That's perhaps one of the most effective beauty regimens anyone can apply to their schedule.

But Not Being Afraid To Change

Not being afraid to change that which you wish to doesn't mean refusing to accept yourself. It just means that you find an area of improvement worthwhile and you are happy to focus on that, too. This might mean heading to a yoga class to improve your flexibility, a benefit being that you can carry yourself with more dignity thanks to enhanced core strength. Some might even opt for light cosmetic surgery or ask 'how much does a designer vagina cost on average?' or have their teeth repaired and fixed after a dental problem. This way, you can be you through and through, and make improvement decisions not through feeling less than, but by knowing who you are and what you want.

    Expressing Yourself As Appropriate

Expressing who you are is all you have to do. This might involve wearing clothes that are vintage because they help you feel good, trying you makeup a different way, or having a tattoo done even in late middle age. That kind of approach can make a tremendous difference while even helping you unlock your confidence.  You just need to give yourself permission to accept that.

With this advice, we hope you can understand just how feeling beautiful is looking beautiful, and vice versa.
