    Foldover Elastic Hairband Tutorial

This is another one of my Pinterest inspired summer holiday crafts - DIY cute hairbands for the girls made from different coloured foldover elastic. Foldover elastic comes in all colour ranges and is about 99p a metre so that's 25p a hairband - not bad!

    What you will need

    Foldover elastic (⅝")

    Scissors

    Candle / Lighter

    Ruler

    Method

Cut your elastic to the desired length to make the hairbands. I cut mine at 8.25 inches.

Fold together and tie a knot in the end and cut the end after the knot at an angle

Hold the cut end near to a flame very briefly to melt the edges of the elastic so that it doesn't fray. Make sure you don't put it too near the flame or it will burn.

And there you have it...so many gorgeous hairbands you can make and they are soft and stretchy and don't leave dents in your hair!
