    Colab post

Half-term soon comes around and it can be hard to decide what to get up to with the kids. If your mind has gone blank and you're struggling for inspiration, we've got you covered.

In this article, we'll be listing some of the best activities to enjoy during half-term, ensuring the kids remain happy and busy!

    Crafts

There are so many ways to keep the kids occupied using crafts, especially when materials are fun, cheap, and simple! Ideal for those wet weather weekends, crafts allow you and the kids to get creative, and it's perfect for beginners, too.

Whether you use play dough to create sculptures, paper to make origami shapes, or ribbons to make rainbow decorations, the list of things to make during half-term is endless.

Ensure to keep your materials safe by using craft storage so they can be used whenever the holidays roll around once again.

    Baking

Get the little ones in the kitchen and make some delicious, sweet treats. There's so much satisfaction in creating something from scratch, so your kids will feel rewarded after whipping up their very own bakes!

Baking helps encourage independence while letting the kids express their creative side. Plus, it's a great opportunity for them to spend quality time with parents, siblings, and friends. Think messy fun and sticky fingers galore!

With so many quick and fun recipes to choose from, all the kids can get involved when it comes to baking. Consider making brownies, chocolate nests, or cupcakes. Don't forget to add icing and decorations.

    Movie night

Nothing beats curling up and watching a good film with loved ones. Instead of costly trips to the cinema, why not recreate the magic at home?

Make a fort, grab the snacks, and have a fun sleepover in the living room. Have the kids make their own cinema tickets with paper, scissors, and glue.

Set the scene by bringing down blankets and pillows so you have a comfortable place to cosy up. Close the curtains, dim the lights, and have a giant bowl of popcorn ready to enjoy. Let the kids choose their favourite film and get excited for movie night.

    Treasure hunt

Treasure hunts are great problem-solving tasks for the little ones. If the weather's nice, get the kids outside to enjoy the perfect scavenger hunt.

Hide items in and around the garden and write down clues for the kids. They should be age-appropriate and engaging to ensure the hunt feels like a true adventure.

Whether you decide to plan a themed hunt where the kids can dress up or just a simple treasure hunt in the local park, the kids will be sure to have bags of fun!
