Find Something to Get you Out of Bed

Have you been guilty of setting the alarm, and every time it beeps, you snooze it? It can be an uphill task not to sleep and lie in bed during summer. However, there are ways to juggle your system to get the right amount of sleep and get up feeling refreshed.

One way is to find something that motivates you and gets you up at a particular time in the morning. The brain has a beautiful trigger system. Research shows that when we attach meaning  (picture, event, word) to things, it improves memory. Reminding yourself of the next day’s plans before bed can help get you going in the morning. Create a summer bucket list to inspire you to get out of bed and tick another thing off the list.

Another way is to hold yourself accountable by involving people in your plans. Schedule coffee with a friend in the morning or a work meeting earlier on in the day. Accountability can help you wake up earlier.

Scheduling helps trigger new behavior and channel your focus. This tactic is key to getting out of bed. When you set out a plan ahead of the new day, it triggers your subconscious and is a great way to improve self-mastery.

    Keep Your Schedule Organized

You can’t plan for everything. However, you can schedule most activities. During this period, you need to ask yourself, what is the most important thing to me? The answer to this question would help guide your scheduling and goal setting.

A mobile app is a fantastic way to set meetings, deadlines, and reminders. It offers real-time alerts and notifications that help you remember appointments and stay on track. Todoist, Wunderlist, and Google Keep are excellent apps to get you started. A calendar in a visible area can also help with your plans and keep you on track. Don't forget to include free time and quiet time in your schedule.

You can also use a shared calendar to plan trips with family and friends. This way, someone can check in and hold you accountable for sticking to plans. Shared calendar apps worth trying include Google Calendar and TimeTree.

Mobile apps help a lot, yet, writing your schedule is still a classic, especially if you are trying to reduce screen time. Writing helps you remember lots of dates and appointments. When you write out schedules, your brain interprets them as the execution of the activity. It is like a rehearsal for a specific task. Research also shows that writing improves recall and memory.

Pick up a New Hobby or Side Hustle

Beyond the fun and outdoor activities that the summer break offers, it is also an excellent time to explore new interests. The summer offers a perfect opportunity to start. With more time on your hands, you must make the most of it.

Summer is the perfect time to start a side hustle if you have been thinking of one. There is less distraction from work, more time to plan, strategize, and implement. However, it is vital to have a schedule that will enable it to grow. Decide how many hours you plan to allocate to it daily.

Nothing else is guaranteed to get you out of bed better than your baby project. So it is advisable to do what you love while ensuring that it is profitable. Your side hustle should gravitate toward your goals.

    Create a Night Routine

Staying up late can often be tempting. There’s Netflix calling, or friends planned a barbecue party at 10 p.m. It takes a lot of discipline to stick to a bedtime routine.

However, it is one of the best ways to enjoy a great summer. A night routine helps you get the recommended amount of sleep. It requires some getting used to, but it helps you stay healthy and more productive when mastered.

Some individuals struggle to sleep at night because of poor habits. Using gadgets close to bedtime and alternating sleeping hours are the most significant reasons. Exposure to blue light an hour before bedtime can prevent melatonin from functioning. Alternating sleeping hours affects the internal sleep-wake cycle.

This effect often leads to insomnia. However, a melatonin supplement can help with sleep. You can take melatonin gummies two hours before bedtime. This routine may help improve sleeping conditions.

    Want an Amazing Summer?

Sticking to a predictable routine during summer can be difficult. So many people return from a summer vacation with bad habits and inferior sleep patterns. You can avoid this by following strict schedules and improving your sleep with melatonin gummies.

    A sample summer schedule

Here's an example of a summer daily routine that includes breakfast, work, and time to relax:

7:00 am - Wake up and have a nutritious breakfast consisting of whole grain toast, scrambled eggs, and a side of fruit. Try to get outside first thing on summer mornings - even if it's just to drink your coffee for five minutes - the sun will really help to wake you up.

8:00 am - Drop older kids at summer camp and younger ones to childcare. Commute to work or start remote work. Begin by reviewing your to-do list for the day and prioritizing tasks.

12:00 pm - Take a lunch break and enjoy a healthy meal or snack. Consider going for a short walk or doing some stretching exercises to recharge.

1:00 pm - Resume work and focus on completing high-priority tasks for the afternoon.

5:00 pm - Finish work and take some time to unwind. This could include going for a run or bike ride, reading a book, or practicing yoga. Plan some fun activities with friends for an hour or two after work. Pick up children from their activities.

6:30 pm - Prepare and enjoy a delicious dinner with family or friends.

8:00 pm - Engage in a relaxing activity such as watching a movie, meditating, or taking a warm bath. This is the best way to relax and prepare yourself for your bedtime routine - you don't want to be doing anything too energetic.

10:00 pm - Begin winding down for the night. Put away electronic devices and spend some time reading or journaling to promote better sleep. Remember healthy habits!

11:00 pm - Lights out! Get a good night's rest to ensure a productive and enjoyable summer day ahead, knowing what you have ahead of you in your simple summer morning routine.
