The natural home decor style is the perfect blend of modern and traditional design. It is a style that is inspired by nature and the world around us. It's a style that is slowly becoming more popular because it's not just stylish, but also practical and affordable. Also, as we become more aware of our connection to nature and the wider world, it is nice to bring a part of that home with us.

Incorporate Natural Elements Into Your Interior Design

Natural elements are easy to incorporate into your interior design, and very budget friendly too. Add pot plants around your home to purify the air and create lots of greenery. Plants are very relaxing, and the process of caring for them is calming so they are a great addition to your home.

You can also bring inside other elements - you can use large pieces of driftwood to create shelves or a mantlepiece and smaller pieces to create photo frames. A wall hanging made of seashells and driftwood is a beautiful bathroom feature.

Shells and pebbles also make great decor - fill a bowl with pretty pebbles and shells you collected on a walk and it makes a great table centrepiece.

Go Wild With Animal Prints And Patterns

Animal prints and patterns can provoke a love or hate response but done right, adding a little bit of animal print to your home can really work. Try adding a leopard print throw to a sofa or add an animal print cushion to an armchair. Little accents of print is what you are looking for or else it will feel overwhelming and cliche. Often animal print provides a great contrast of texture so don't rule it out if you're not usually a fan.

Extend your decor to the garden

Just because we are bringing the outside in doesn't mean that we should neglect the actual outside! If you can, create a seamless link between the inside and the outside, with the two areas blending into each other. Carve out a space for an outside eating and sitting area, even if it is just a small table and chair. Having your morning coffee outside does wonders for your soul. Set up a nature corner with decorative stones and pebbles - an aesthetic rock garden to provide a corner of tranquility. Add a water feature as the sound can be incredibly soothing.

    Decorate for the seasons

Decorating for the seasons will make you feel more connected with nature. Go for walks and collect treasures for you to display at home. In the spring these can be fresh wild flowers, in the summer vibrant bright flowers and sea glass from the beach. In the autumn forage for conkers and acorns and in the winter use decorative twigs and pine cones.

    Eco-Friendly Materials

If you are going to decorate with a nature theme in mind, it makes sense to do so in an environmentally friendly way. Use natural, foraged materials where you can. If you are buying new, go for organic and natural materials and try to avoid single use plastics. You can use environmentally friendly paint for the walls and natural wood for the floor. Remember, every small change makes a huge difference when stacked up.
