The pandemic has been difficult for everyone, we've been kept apart from family and loved ones and missed so many special moments. Now that restrictions have eased and we can see family again (carefully) I'm looking forward to making lots of memories whilst we can and having lots of moments that matter.
We have been enjoying some lovely days out over the summer, from walks in our local area to visiting places a little further afield. It's been lovely to get out and about again and have the children get to experience new things.
There are of course some family and friends who are still not able to join us on adventures. The children's grandparent's haven't seen them properly for a long time so we like to give them lots of photos to keep them updated. Getting photos printed is really very easy now, you can go online and upload them and then pick up the prints a few days later. Snappy Snaps is one such company and it's really easy to find your local store, upload your photos to the website and have them printed. They even do custom sized poster prints so it really is easy to get a print poster online.
Here are some places we've been visiting and making memories, taking photos and sharing them with our loved ones...
The Farm
We have loved visiting the farm over the summer and have got lots of cute photos of the children with the animals. We've loved having nice weather and being able to be outside and appreciate everything that little bit more now that we can actually go places. We all really enjoyed a farm tour one day and a picnic followed by coffee and cake. So good! The lovely thing about photos taken on days out like this is that they really bring back the memory of the day out so are great conversation makers when showing family members who weren't there.
The Beach
We also spent a lot of time at the beach - we are lucky to live nearby. It's a great free day out - we take a picnic or snack, bucket and spade and the children will play for hours. You can also take really lovely photos at the beach because the scenery is so pretty so they make lovely prints to put in a frame or on the wall.
Local Places of Interest
Because we haven't gone away on holiday this year we have had lots of day trips out to local places of interest - it is crazy that there are so many places right on our doorstep that we haven't discovered yet. I joined a facebook group where people post days out in the local area and I have found so many hidden gems, as well as following local people on Instagram. The other day we visited Ogmore Castle and we had such a great day out and took some gorgeous photos.
Milestones
There are also lots of milestones that we want to share with our family - these are the real moments that matter - like the children starting school, going up to high school, their first tooth coming in (or out!), special moments like that. We always take a back to school photo and a Christmas tree photo and these often get printed out and given to family members to keep and I treasure these myself too.
