My Home Office – WAHM Home Office Tour and Inspiration

I’m really lucky that we have a spare room at home that I have turned into a home office. It’s somewhere I can shut the door and really concentrate on work. I am a funny little creature, I have to work in a tidy, quiet environment and while I do sometimes work from the laptop on the sofa or in bed, I am most productive when I am sat at my desk.

In addition to my blog I’ve also been working hard on my YouTube channel and so in my office I’ve got a little area where I can film sit down videos, which is great because it means it’s not as much hard work setting up for filming each time and if I run out of time I can leave the lights and tripod out and they aren’t in the way anywhere.

It’s taken me ages to get this space just how I wanted it, So I thought I would share my office space with you!

The desk I have placed in front of the window because I like to have natural light while I’m working. I find if I can’t look out of a window I feel claustrophobic! The desk is just a cheap one from Ikea, and I have a family photo on the desk as well as our last baby scan photo.

I have a desk chair from Ikea which was quite expensive but really comfy and I always have a blanket on the chair as I like to be cosy when I’m working! I made this one myself.

I have another desk that sits alongside this and I have my printer on the top as well as a pot that stores my pens and post it notes and notebooks. I also have my diary open on this desk so I can easily look over at it to see what I have scheduled for the week. Above this desk I have a wall calendar and I also like to stick up cool postcards with washi tape!

Underneath this desk I have a storage unit from Ikea where I store my paperwork and other bits and bobs which helps me to keep my desk tidy!

On the wall we have a fireplace that we uncovered while we were doing the renovation work and we painted gloss black. You might recognise this as my YouTube backdrop! In the corner there is a bed for the cats!

Above the fireplace I have three prints which are from Desinio and Maggs London. The frames are all from Desinio. I’ve loved the Maggs London print forever and am so pleased it’s now up in the office!

On the other side of the room we have a sofa bed from Ikea which I have covered with blankets because the cats like to sit on here!  The cushions are from Matalan and TK Maxx. The cat litter tray sits discreetly in the corner here and there is also shelving to the right where I keep my camera equipment and things that I have been sent to review.

On the wall above the sofa are three prints which I bought and printed from Etsy and framed in cheap black frames.

On the floor we laid some basic grey laminate and I have this gorgeous pink glittery fluffy rug! It just makes the room come together a bit more and feels more homely.

So this is where you will find me when I’m working, either writing, editing or filming! I love this room now and I enjoy being in here which is important! I have made a little video of my office space if you want to watch it and see the details of everything…

If you liked this post share it with your friends or Pin it for later…
