Three Ways You Can Build On Your Confidence

    May 15, 2023 · Modified: Feb 9, 2026 by Ali · Leave a Comment

    Colab post

At times it can be difficult to stay positive and love yourself, especially with how challenging life can be. However, it is important for you to have a good level of self-assurance and confidence.

Achieving a good level of confidence will in turn make the stresses of everyday life seem that little bit easier. You will feel confident that you can face life's demands and overcome them. You're not going to build up massive amounts of confidence overnight, however, there are many ways that you can start to build it over time.

Gaining more confidence can help you get away from the expectations of other people too. It's unfair for people to have expectations of another person, but it does happen, all the time. When you are feeling confident in yourself, you tend to knot worry about what others think of you as much, this can be liberating and free you of negative thinking.

Having confidence isn't about having a bad attitude and not appreciating other people's opinions, it's more about being assured in the person that you are. That being said, let's have a look at some of the ways you can improve your confidence levels below:

Be Comfortable With How You Look

This is an area that many people struggle with because there always seems to be a negative twist on appearance in the media and on social networking sites. The way you feel about how you look has a direct impact on your confidence levels and it can knock them massively. It really seems, at times, you can't win. For example, you could be talking openly about speaking to a Cosmetic Breast & Body Surgeon and someone will pick up on it as negative, or you could be talking about embracing your stretch marks and wobbly tummy after having children, and someone will say you can do better. It seems as though you can never win, therefore it is important for you to remember to be comfortable with how you look at yourself. You are the only person that matters, ignore everyone else.

    Never Hide Your Emotions

Some people find it very easy to show their emotions, others seem to bottle them up. Neither is right or wrong, however, letting your emotions out can really help to make you feel more confident. You are showing the world how you feel about something and how you truly are as a person. People make the world an interesting place, so if you want to cry at a happy video or story you have heard let it happen. Self-expression is a wondrous thing, try not to let it slip by.

    Love Yourself

Ok, so you might not feel like it all the time, however, it is important for you to love yourself. Highlight to yourself what is great about you, and try to stay away from being negative all the time. Even if you don't feel like it at times, always try to think of something that you like about yourself. It might be that you aren't happy about the way you handled an issue, but you remind yourself that you only dealt with it that way because you care too much sometimes. Try to see the positives in yourself rather than the negatives.

These three tips should help you to feel more confident. Do you have any other tips that could help? Please share them in the comments below.
