Tips to Add Volume to Hair

Thick and voluptuous hair; is favored by everyone. A bad hair day may ruin your well-thought-out look. On the other hand, having full luscious locks may add much-needed charisma to your outfit.

Having flat and volume-less can be very unflattering and less beguiling. Here are some of the tips through which you will be able to add volume to your hair.

    Add Extensions

Adding extra hair to your natural hair will help you add thickness to your hair. Numerous people have naturally thin hair. They cannot do much to increase the thickness and density of their hair, but they can add extensions.

You may add clip in hair extensions to add length and volume to your hair. A few people opt for tape-ins or dreadlocks in their hair. They are acceptable options, but unlike clip-in extensions, they end up causing harm to your natural hair, and you need a professional’s help to get them.

    Blow Dry the Hair

Blow drying one’s hair is a common practice among people. In order to add volume, it is more suitable to blow dry hair than to air dry. Use a round brush to blow dry your hair. Make sure that the placement of the round brush allows the hair to lift away from the roots.

Using a well-thought-out technique is better than running the blow dryer wildly in your hair. Carefully section your hair and dry the roots first. Then use a round brush to add volume.

One of the top tips for maintaining beautiful hair is to use heat protection products when blow drying so make sure that you incorporate these into your routine.

    Add Volumizing Products

Many products in the market promise to give you voluminous hair. A volumizing spray or a thickening lotion adds a considerable magnitude to hair. You may use a volumizing spray or dry shampoo to add the required volume.

The products reduce the oils and add structure to your hair, which lifts hair; from its roots. Mainly these products are used on damp hair. Use these products near the roots while lifting the hair for a better result.

    Use a Curling Iron

Curling irons provide texture to your hair, which creates the illusion of thickness and fullness. The curling iron can also help in the process of adding volume to your hair. You may use the curling iron or heated rollers after applying a heat-repellent lotion to the hair.

You can curl your hair away from your face; this technique makes the hair appear big and curvy. Run your fingers through your curled hair for a better and volumizing finish. Use a hair spray after curling to retain the volume.

    Do Backcombing

Backcombing is a technique developed to increase volume in the hair while styling it. To backcomb your hair, take a tail comb and section your hair. Then, take each section and comb your hair downward with that same comb.

This technique will add instant volume to your hair. For a neat finish, lightly brush your hair from the surface. To protect your hair from damage, do not tease your hair harshly.

When detangling your hair, start from the lower ends of your hair and gradually move towards the roots. This technique will help you detangle your hair without damaging it.
