I absolutely love decorating my home. I enjoy making each room unique and special whilst coming together as one. I like to make quick changes to the decor so I like to keep the room as a blank canvas and then change the accessories or art on the walls to give a different look. This way I can change the look of a room quite easily without too much mess, effort and cost. Read on for some wall art ideas for your home.
Framed prints
An easy way to add some character to a room is with framed prints. We have lots of framed prints around our house, and what I love about them is that you can switch the pictures in the frames whenever it takes your fancy.
A huge framed print makes a great statement piece and you can pick anything that suits your style and the decor of the room. I think that a large framed print really tells you something about the owner of a property, you can get a great insight into their taste and style.
You could also consider a gallery wall. I love these and have several in our home. The prints are smaller, and of different sizes but it gives you the chance to display lots of complimentary pieces at once. Gallery walls are great for more awkward spaces too, like the wall alongside the stairs or in smaller rooms where one large print would be too overpowering.
Posters
When I was a child I wasn't allowed posters on my walls which was such a shame as they are such a great way to personalise a room. Luckily now there are many ways of fixing posters up so that they don't damage the paintwork so my daughters are allowed posters on their walls and I love how it allows them to express their personalities.
Because posters are a cheaper form of wall art and easily moved they are great for seasonal decor too, or a more budget friendly way of adding some art to your walls. They are also easy to transport if you move home often, simply roll up and pack!
Tapestries
Tapestries are a really interesting and unique way of displaying art. Here are some great museum quality tapestries from celebrated artists and famous brands. They are lightweight and available in different sizes. They have hemmed edges which means they can be secured to the wall by hanging with nails or thumbtacks.
I think they lend themselves particularly well to a more bohemian style and make a great change from more traditional wall art. They'd also make a really lovely unique gift for someone special.
I hope that you found this post on wall art ideas for your home useful and that it has inspired you to get some art installed in your home.
