    What to See in Amsterdam

When you first start planning your trip and you're searching for where to stay in Amsterdam, make sure you're located near some of the top museums. The Rijksmeusms is one of the best, and here are some others.

    The Van Gogh Museum

The Van Gogh Museum is among the very best museums in Amsterdam. It houses a huge collection, including Sunflowers and many other paintings by Vincent van Gogh. The museum also has a pleasant cafe and a shop.

    Anne Frank House

The Anne Frank House is a museum dedicated to the life of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who was hiding from the Nazis during World War II. The museum includes the secret annex where Anne and her family hid in occupied Amsterdam.

    What to Eat in Amsterdam

There's a lot to love about Dutch food, even if it's not the most sophisticated or healthy cuisine in the world. We've picked out a sweet and savory option that should offer you a taste of what the Netherlands has to offer.

    Poffertjes

Poffertjes are small, fluffy pancakes that are popular in the Netherlands. They are often served with butter and/or sprinkled with powdered sugar, and can be found at many cafes and restaurants in Amsterdam.

    Herring

Herring is a type of fish that is commonly eaten in the Netherlands, either raw or pickled. It can be found at most markets in Amsterdam and is often served as part of a meal or as a snack.

    What to Do in Amsterdam

There's a lot to do in Amsterdam when you want to fill an afternoon. You could take to the water and cruise Amsterdam's famous canals. Or if you're looking for some retail therapy, you certainly won't be disappointed by the range of impressive stores Amsterdam has to offer. You can also think of starting a small business in this city that is also an important business hub. Here are some more ideas.

    Visit a Coffee Shop

Coffee shops are plentiful in Amsterdam, and they're not your typical coffee shops. In Amsterdam, coffee shops sell cannabis products, and they're completely legal. If you're interested in trying out some of the local cannabis products, then visiting a coffee shop is a must-do activity. This isn't for those traveling with the family though.

    Go to a Museum

Amsterdam is home to some world-renowned museums, such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. If you're interested in art or history, then spending an afternoon at one of these museums is a great way to learn more about Amsterdam and its culture.

If you're looking for a city that has it all, Amsterdam is the place for you. From world-renowned museums to delicious Dutch cuisine, there's something for everyone in this vibrant city. So what are you waiting for? Start planning your trip to Amsterdam today.

There's loads to see and explore outside of the touristy centre.
We used to stay in the Oude West area near Der Hallen, the old tram sheds that have been converted into unique shops and has a massive food hall!
There are many markets which take place regularly outside the centre which are also very busy.
Westerpark is a very good day out. The old gas works which has been converted into a park/nature reserve. Some interesting shops there also!
