Why Milestone Birthdays Are So Important to Celebrate

    milestone birthday

Let's be honest; birthdays are a ton of fun to celebrate when you are little, sending our the bday invitations and waiting for your friends to reply.  However, as you start to age, they begin to become something that you almost dread.  I get that; getting older is not fun as each new day seems to bring a new surprise that is not something you were looking forward too.  With that being said, why should you make sure to celebrate milestone birthdays?

Milestone birthdays are just that, significant milestones in your life.  Each new milestone usually introduces a totally new phase of life that you are about to start.  For example, at 18 you are an adult, 21 you can drink, 30 you may be thinking about starting a family., 40 you are well on your way in your career, 50 you finally have the time and money to travel, 60 you are almost ready to retire and enjoy having an empty nest. So why not celebrate these new phases of life on your birthday.

Here are three other reasons why it is a must to celebrate your milestone birthdays.

    Not Everything Is About You

I mean that in the most helpful way possible.  However, this is a true statement.  Your loved ones want the chance to show how important you are to them.  Letting them throw you a celebration that celebrates you and your accomplishments is one small thing they can do to help repay you for everything you have done for them.  It is a chance for your family and loved ones to gather together and make memories that will last a lifetime. So let your family go overboard and send out some super crazy 40th bday invites and invite the world as it is just a much for them as it is for you.

    You Get Free Stuff

Now let's do a little real talk.  Who doesn't like opening gifts?  Depending on the birthday you are celebrating your gifts could range from a car to just about anything.  So why not enjoy and day that is all about you and come away with some fun gift that you make be able to use for a lifetime.  If not, you will at least have fond memories of some of the gifts.

    You Owe It To Yourself

The final reason is that life is not always easy. As we travel through life, we are all going to have our struggles.  Why not let you guard down just a little bit with your friends and family and celebrate with your loved ones the good things that have happened.  As you get older, just celebrating that you are still here becomes quite a celebration as many of your acquaintances may not have made it to their 60th, 70th, or even 80th birthdays.  So take the win and enjoy the time you have with your friends and family.

So no matter what reason you choose from celebrating your milestone birthdays, don't shy away from it.  Each milestone should be celebrated and is just one more phase of life that you have to look forward too.  So no matter the age, live your life to the fullest!
