    0-12 Weeks Pregnant

    Jan 7, 2014 · Modified: Jan 21, 2022 by Ali · 2 Comments

It's so lovely to be able to write this post! I am so lucky to have two gorgeous girls and extra blessed to have a little baby on the way. I'm writing the 0-12 week post in one but after this I plan on writing one every week or so (bump pics included!)

    0-12 weeks pregnant.

We had been TTC quite casually for a couple of months. This baby was definitely planned but we weren't in a huge rush. Saying that I was frantically taking tests every month desperate to know! The cycle we conceived I had said to my hubby that I definitely didn't feel pregnant this month. I then took a test a couple of days before my period was due and the test was faulty!! A big blue blur spread across the test and the control line didn't even come up. I was really annoyed - what a waste of an expensive test! I put the test down and didn't really think about it (except about complaining to Morrisons lol!). A couple of hours later I looked at it and nearly fell on the floor when it showed two strong blue lines! WHAT! But I couldn't believe it as the test had been faulty. I dutifully waited a couple of days and took another test. Funnily enough this one was lighter but still two clear lines! We had done it!

    Symptoms

Obviously having had a missed miscarriage previously I was (and still am) obsessed with symptom spotting. My boobs were a little tender at first, and got more painful until about 8 weeks when the tenderness went away completely. It came back a couple of days later and the soreness went again about 12 weeks.

I wasn't especially sick at the beginning but I was completely exhausted. Really really bone tired. I felt a little queasy in the mornings and when I was eating but nothing special. I was a little sick one morning or two but not too bad compared to what some people get. I felt much less tired and sick from 12 weeks.

I have had slight tummy cramps which usually settle if I have a little rest. I think these are just growing pains. I have quite a little bump already!

I haven't really gone off anything yet. I went off coffee for the first few weeks and I've not eaten as many chocolates as I would usually do at Christmas. I've had quite strong cravings for all different types of food though - I'll just fancy something all of a sudden and crave that. My favourite 'meal' if you can call it that at the moment is crackers with dairylea and wotsits. mmmm!

I had my booking scan which showed that the baby looks great for this stage and measured 11+2 days which is a whole 5 days ahead of the date I had calculated. They did find a small cyst on my ovary but will monitor it and say it is nothing to worry about. I am consultant led because of my history and have my next hospital appointment at 16 weeks. I hope that they give me an extra scan to look at the cyst!

So there we have it - our journey up until now! I am actually 13 weeks already so my 13 week post won't be far behind this!
