Unfortunately May was filled with awful weather this year - it basically rained non stop! Luckily though at the very end the sun made a welcome return and we were able to get out and about! Restrictions eased a lot and most things are open again, which is so lovely to see. I went for a wander around Cardiff Bay and it was so nice to see everyone sitting outside with friends, enjoying each other's company and the nice weather. It makes it seem a little bit like the past year has been a bad dream.
We've managed to get out and meet some friends that we haven't seen for a long time which has been amazing. We have really missed socialising and it's great for the children to see people again, they have missed friends and family so much.

This photo was taken when we went on a day trip to Tyntesfield, a National Trust property. We love our National Trust membership, it works out at such great value for our large family and means that we can have lots of days out to places without it costing us a fortune. We haven't been able to make the most of the membership over lockdown so we are making up for that now! Tyntesfield is one of my favourite local places - it's got beautiful grounds, a great playground and cafe and the house is really interesting too. I'd definitely recommend a visit there if you are in the area.
I hope that the sunshine continues for June and I can't really believe that soon we are going to be in the summer holidays - I guess because the children have been home for such a large part of this year. I am looking forward to them being home, spending some time relaxing together and enjoying a quiet life again before chaotic life resumes in September.
