    • How roof windows are energy efficient?

Roof windows have now become a global trend. Not only do they improve the quality of light in your house, but they are highly energy efficient. They keep the house warm in winters and bright in summers. When it comes to world-class windows, Roof Window Outlet stands ahead with an amazing range of innovative and high quality windows. While some people do consider these just for aesthetics, roof windows have multiple benefits associated with them.

    Why roof windows?

Roof windows bring you direct natural light and warmth. They enlighten your house by letting in the direct sunlight. There are places in your home like dark rooms and corridors where vertical windows may not bring enough light. Roof windows are made precisely for such places.

Another benefit of having a roof window installed in your house is that they improve ventilation. Proper ventilation is necessary; it reduces moisture and freshens the air inside the home. The ventilation coming from roof windows removes the odour from the air and makes your place livable.

Roof windows provide easy and safe access to roofs. You can use them in case your roof needs fixing or maintenance.

Unwanted sounds coming from nearby roads and busy surroundings are bad for the quality of life in your house. Roof windows can make your house a comfortable place by blocking all such noises.

    Why is Proper Installation necessary?

When installing, make sure your roof window has minimal air leakage and proper light exposure. These windows are designed to be placed in the same orientation as the roof's pitch. With the help of hinges and latches, you can open or close your roof window whenever you want.

How roof windows are energy efficient?

Not only does the roof window provide light, but it also improves ventilation and gives thermal comfort. When it comes to energy efficiency, the type of roof window you choose matters a lot. How do we determine energy efficacy? U factor is the answer. U factor determines the energy efficiency of a roof window in terms of the non-solar heat energy it transmits. A roof window with a low U factor has high efficiency and vice versa. The U factor can be found on the specification sheet of the product.

Solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) is another parameter that can help determine roof windows' efficiency. SHGC tells us how much solar energy is being converted into heat by roof window. For example, in winters, people go for roof windows with high SHGC ratings.

A poorly enveloped home always experiences air leakages which result in heat loss and high electricity bills. Families who live in such houses end up paying more to maintain internal thermal comfort.

If you have roof windows, you don't need to go through all this hassle. They help you improve your home's efficiency by keeping it warm and cosy in winters and chilly in summers. In addition to that, roof windows reduce your electricity bills and help you keep the bills under control. They are cost effective and practical.

I'm giving my bedroom a makeover soon, and since it's located on the second floor, I was considering getting roof windows installed to help allow more natural air and lighting into the room. It's great that you emphasized that roof windows help with energy efficiency by keeping the room warm and cozy during winters and chilly in summers. I'll be sure to remember this while I look for installers to hire for the roof windows I need in my bedroom soon.
