    Lanzarote

Whether you want an adventure holiday, or you'd prefer to kick back and relax, Lanzarote is a great destination for families of all ages.

Famous for its sunny climate perfect for the family-friendly or cool down at one of their waterparks, you'd be forgiven for thinking that there isn't much left to explore off the beaten track, but you'd be mistaken! Lanzarote has some incredible landscapes, unspoilt beaches and authentic towns just waiting to be enjoyed.

Kids and grown-ups of all ages will enjoy exploring volcanoes and ancient lava tunnels, and there are plenty of exciting adventures to be had, from camel rides to caving and natural swimming to snorkelling.

A good tip for families looking to escape the crowds is to hire a car and make your way around the island, so you don't have to rely on public transport.

    Cyprus

Cyprus is a delightful destination for families combining plenty to see and do with great weather and stunning scenery.

Shrouded in myths and legends, there are mysterious tombs, archaeological sites, and catacombs to explore that are sure to ignite the imagination. Little ones will love the child-friendly beaches, such as Coral Bay in Paphos, and adults will appreciate the pretty harbour and delicious cuisine.

If you're looking to try something new, how about a donkey safari? Or you could try one of the many water sports on offer like snorkelling and paragliding.

When visiting Cyprus as a family, you may want to consider staying in a villa so you can go by your schedule and plan your days perfectly to fit your family's needs.

    Corfu

With its inviting beaches, clear waters and UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town, Corfu has loads to offer families.

Renting a car is essential if you're planning to travel around the island and make the most of your trip as there are so many quaint villages, forgotten ruins and ancient castles to explore.

You could also go horse trekking or ride in a glass-bottomed boat to discover what lies beneath the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea.

    Portugal

The cities of Lisbon and Porto are filled with architectural wonders such as castles and churches. In Porto, you'll find Serralves, which combines a museum, art gallery, historic mansion, extensive gardens, and even a petting zoo, so you're sure to find something everyone will enjoy! Lisbon also boasts an Oceanarium and a science museum to keep youngsters entertained.

Further south, in the Algarve, you'll find miles and miles of golden sands with pristine waters that offer the perfect opportunity to try water sports like paddleboarding or hop on one of the many boat tours. This region of Portugal also has plenty of water parks and family-friendly attractions.

Portugal is a great option for families who'd prefer to use public transport during their travels as the country is well-connected and public transport is typically reliable and affordable.
