When it comes to cool game room ideas these days there are so many roads you can down. Depending on who the bedroom is for and whats sort of games that person is into, you can create man caves with a pool table, games console gaming areas with multiple screens and all of the gadgets, and also designing a bedroom space that is fit for purpose. A gaming room can often be the dream for children who want to have a more grown up bedroom, but gaming rooms are also perfect for young adults. There are a few things you need to consider when creating a cool gaming bedroom and I wanted to share with you what they are and some ideas to help you transform your space into a gaming paradise. Whatever that looks like for you.
What to consider when creating a gaming bedroom
First of all, there are a couple of things that you need to consider when it comes to creating a cool gaming bedroom. I have itemised some of them which will help you not only create a usable and functional space, but one that meets the needs of the occupier.
Natural light
A bedroom needs to be a functional space. It wonโt be a place where gaming is constantly taking place. There will be need for sleep but also other things where natural light will be important. Make sure the windows are features. A gaming room is usually dark for digital gamers, with maybe some ambient lighting, but you also want the option to bring natural light in for other games such as board games or cards.
Zones
You also want to create zones and an area to relax and chill out in as well as specified areas to enjoy video games, etc. Zones can help you make use of the entire room and how much space you have. Make a gaming area, a reading area, a sleeping area etc.
How big the room is
Whether you are adding gaming into a living room or creating the perfect bedroom you need to use the space you have. A small room can still have zones and areas as well as having a gaming theme to it. The small space will just need to be maximised. You will want to consider the size of the room when you are adding a TV. A big screen is great, but make sure it isn't too big for the room.
Storage
Storage is key for any bedroom, especially a gaming bedroom. There will be monitors or large screen TVโs to consider, an area where a home office desk will need to be used, or games needing to be stored away. Make the use of the walls or an entertainment center for TVโs or a tv stand with storage to maximise the space.
Cabling
Digital gamers especially will need you to consider cabling. There may be charging stations, consoles or PCs as well as wires for internet connection, TVโs and monitors. Do you have enough plug outlets? Is there are a way to store the wires neatly and discreetly? You don't want cables and wires trailing all over your gaming space so the best thing is to have plenty of plug sockets, with usb ports included.
A comfortable chair
This is really quite an essential when creating a game room. Gaming sessions are often lengthy so somewhere comfortable to sit is a must - within reach of the video game consoles. A specifically designed gaming chair is the best option if you have enough room.
Cool gaming bedroom ideas
Now comes the fun part, gaming room ideas. I wanted to share with you five focuses you could have to create some incredible gaming bedrooms. It doesnโt matter what sort of gaming the person is into, one of these ideas will be something you can sink your teeth into.
Pin Badges Display
If you're looking to decorate your gaming bedroom with a personalized touch, custom pin badges are a great option to consider. Not only can you showcase your favorite gaming characters, but you can also create a visually stunning display that can be a conversation starter for visitors. You can create a collection of pins that represent your favorite games, or choose a specific theme to tie everything together. The games console gamer bedroom
If you are designing a bedroom for someone who loves to play video games and uses games consoles there are lots of ideas to think about. You want to include things such as a gaming chair, merchandise on the walls from their favorite games like fifa cards or posters. You could also put a TV on the wall to maximise the gaming experience and create a focal point for the room. While natural light is important for gaming please you may want to think about blinds or curtains so that they can enjoy the digital experience. Consider getting some speakers so that you can fully experience any sound effects in a game and add to the experience.
The PC gamer bedroom
The PC gamer is a little more old school that a games console gamer. They will also need a slightly different set up in their bedroom. This is where a gaming desk or computer desk could be more user friendly as they may want to have different monitors for their games. A PC gamer may also need different gadgets to play with, such as hand controllers, mouse and mouse mat and a gaming keyboard. In terms of design features it may be very similar to how you might design and set up a games console gaming room. Lighting is crucial for a gamer room. You will want to keep it dark with accent lighting such as strip lights or neon lights to make it look like a cool place.
Old school gaming
Gaming isnโt always about digital fun and can actually be retro and vintage games. A great way to incorporate this into the style of the room - add new pieces to the room and remove pieces that don't look like they belong. If you are designing a bedroom that will incorporate vintage and retro games such as pinball machines or older arcade machines. You can totally implement them into a bedroom by adding them alongside the usual things you will find in a bedroom space. Or, if you are working with a small space you can buy retro games consoles or decorate walls with wall decor such as old school posters.
Physical games room ideas
If you have a larger space and you want to incorporate different games like a pool table or even a table set-up where you can turn it into different games like table tennis, air hokey or pool/snooker then it is totally possible to transform a space in a bedroom. Using a desk and or a table you can have a section dedicated to these sorts of games. You can decorate the walls with heroes in these areas like pool/snooker players or neon signs etc. Use the colours to decorate certain features.
Table games room ideas
Finally, you can beat some of those favourite games. Board games are making a huge comeback so if you want to transform a bedroom space then making sure there is plenty of floor space for board games is a must. You will also want to ensure that you have plenty of storage like shelves or cupboards so that these games can be stored away correctly.
When creating a gaming bedroom colour is important as well as ensuring that you highlight some of their favourite games. Creating a gaming room setup so that you can not only enjoy the games but also use the bedroom as a functional space for work, homework, reading, relaxing and most importantly sleeping. I hope this has given you plenty of inspiration.
