Currywurst Recipe

Last week you’ll remember I went to Berlin. Well the hubby was very jealous that he couldn’t come and enjoy some traditional German delicacies such as currywurst! So I brought home some ‘wurst’ and found a great recipe for making the curry sauce that goes with it.


2 german sausages

1 can chopped tomatoes

1 onion

1 Tbsp vegetable oil

2 Tbsp curry powder

1 Tbsp paprika

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

salt to taste


Cook the chopped onion in the oil for 5 minutes until soft. Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to the boil and simmer, stirring often for 20 minutes until thickened. Blend with a hand blender. Cook the german sausage, chop and add to the blended sauce.

I served it with our usual friday night chip shop chips.
