DIY Halloween Trick or Treat Bags

    Oct 18, 2017 · Modified: Sep 19, 2022 by Ali · 13 Comments

My children absolutely love Halloween. They love decorating the house and getting dressed up and going to Halloween parties and trick or treating. We try to do lots of Halloween themed crafts, making decorations for the house and this year we made DIY Halloween Trick or Treat bags.

This craft is really easy and really effective. I also love that you get something useable at the end. You'll need to find some napkins with a halloween print. We had these colourful Day of The Dead style skulls on ours but you could find napkins with ghosts, bats, spiders etc. Whatever takes your fancy! It doesn't have to be one main image either, you could cut out lots of smaller ones and stick them on individually.

    You will need...

    A blank paper bag

    White PVA Glue

    Paintbrush

    Scissors

    Patterned Tissue Paper Napkins

    Glitter Glue

Simply cut out the shapes from your napkins. Spread the PVA glue thinly on the bag and stick your tissue paper on the top. Once it is stuck in place, paint over it with a thin layer of the PVA glue. Don't worry, it will dry clear. Leave to dry in a warm place and then decorate with the glitter glue.

And there you have it, really easy to make DIY Halloween trick or treat bags. Your children will love filling this with sweets and other goodies on Halloween, or if you don't go trick or treating you could fill it yourself with some sweets!

The beauty of this is that you can make all different designs and of course it isn't limited to a Halloween trick or treat bag. You can use the same technique to make party bags or Christmas gift bags. The choices are endless!

These look so good! My teenage daughter and her friends are on about trick or treating this year, so I may have to have a go at making some of these decoupage bags myself 🙂
