Have you ever been out somewhere and been told how cute your shoes are, or how amazing you look in a dress? I know I have, and afterwards, my head was so big that I could barely get through my front door.
What woman doesn’t enjoy receiving a compliment every now and then? We all do, and just because we enjoy compliments, doesn’t mean we’re conceited or vain...it just means we appreciate you taking notice in our efforts to look good!
We’ve all heard the phrase “when you look good, you feel good.” Well that statement is quite true. When you put in the effort to look good, your energy levels are much higher, and you’re more likely to have a productive work day.
We’re going to talk about the different ways to become your beautiful self and how to spread the word.
Find a Good Skin Care Regimen
When you meet someone, what’s the first thing they see? The first thing a person sees is your face. Hopefully there’s a smile on your face upon meeting them!
Did you know that your skin is the largest organ of your body? That reason alone is why it’s so important to take good care of your skin. Doing so will help this organ function better and longer.
If you already have clear skin, then that’s amazing. For you, prevention is key. It’s much easier to maintain a healthy skin regimen, versus trying to fix skin issues in the future, due to laziness or feeling like you don’t need to.
In the words of my great grandmother, “it’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.” So even if you have flawless skin, it’s always a good idea to have a stash of facial cleanser and moisturizer in your cabinet...just to be on the safe side.
Now, if you have not-so-perfect skin, that’s ok. It’s all the more reason why you should take the time out to care for your skin. There’s several skin care products that can be found at different stores, as well as, home remedies that can be made with a few simple items in your pantry.
Figuring out what skin type you have is what will determine the skin care regimen you will need. If your skin is really dry, you’ll want a skin care routine that focuses on moisturizing. If your skin is oily, then you need a routine that can remove excess oil and allow you to maintain that balance of oily and dry.
Remember, our skin lasts a lifetime...what you do to it and how you care for it will be evident in the future.
Pick Clothes That Fit Your Body
This is the mindset we need to have when shopping. Picking out clothes that fit our body size and shape versus picking out clothes that we want our bodies to fit into. There’s nothing worse than seeing a woman wearing clothes that are too big or too small for them. Sometimes we wear clothes too big or too small out of comfort, while others wear them out of pure denial.
The reality is, when we get older, life happens. Our metabolism slows down, we have kids...life just happens. But just because we get older and life takes us through the ringer sometimes, that doesn’t mean that we have to be a direct reflection of our situation or circumstances.
If you’re a mom, pick yourself out a dress and go show off your gorgeous legs. Just because you’re a mom, that doesn’t mean the fun ends. You can play the role of mom during the week and be a fashion goddess on weekends.
Maintain a Healthy Hair Routine
Whether your hair care routine is for dodging the summer heat or harsh winter winds, your hair health is a reflection of whether or not you lead a healthy lifestyle. Yes genetics also have a little something to do with your hair health, but making healthy choices are some preventive measures you can add to your daily routine.
How often you wash your hair can be a determining factor of your hair health, depending on the type of hair you have. Straight hair tends to get oily faster than curly hair. For the most part, curly, coarse, or thick hair can be washed less; washing it too much can give it a dry and frizzy appearance. Keeping your hair clean and trimmed promotes growth, but in the same breathe, dry hair leads to breakage.
Some general tips to keep your hair healthy is to drink plenty of water, try to cut your stress levels down, and limit the amount of heat you use on your hair. Hair is already dead...all we can do is these routines to bring our hair back to life.
Become an Inspiration to Yourself and Others
Here’s where sharing the good news comes into play. In today’s day and age, there are so many platforms to get information out there. Word of mouth, cell phones, and social media. The best way to tell your story, in my opinion, is to start your own blog.
Starting your own blog allows you to be your own expert on topics that spark your interest. When starting your blog, the main thing you must do, first and foremost, is find a domain name.
If you’re an avid bargain shopper, create a blog telling people about how and where to find the best deals.
You want your domain name to be reflective of what your blog is about. Your blog can be whatever you want it to be and be filled with any type of information you want, but if you want your readers to stick around, your domain name should be fairly relevant to what the blog will actually be talking about.
So don’t be afraid to take people on this journey with you of becoming your beautiful self. You have the key ingredients, now all you have to do is share it with the world!
