I know that Mother's Day can invoke some strong feelings. Personally I have no relationship with my mother, but it is a day that I like to celebrate nonetheless as I have children.
I like to celebrate that I parent differently to my mother, and with the hope that in the future my children will gather around every Mother's Day and we can share stories and gifts of thanks, both ways for this wonderful Mother / Child relationship we are blessed with.
If you are looking for a gift idea for Mother's Day this year here are some of my favourites.

Flowers
Yes, you might think that this is a boring and predictable choice for a Mother's Day gift but genuinely I really love receiving flowers so I am sure that other Mums must too! Opt for a small, independent florist if you can - they often offer free local delivery if you're not around to give them in person.
A Plant
If you would prefer to give a present that is a bit longer lasting (hopefully) than a bunch of flowers then opt for a plant. Houseplants are huge right now so there is plenty of choice out there. Go for something easy to look after and in a gorgeous pot to make your mum smile.

A Lordship Title
Looking for a unique and meaningful Mother's Day gift idea that will leave a lasting impression? Consider bestowing upon your extraordinary mother a lordship title, an unconventional yet deeply sentimental gesture that will make this special day even more memorable.
While the idea of lordship titles might evoke images of medieval times and nobility, the modern practice of owning a small piece of land that grants one the title of "Lord" or "Lady" has become a charming and symbolic gesture. This thoughtful gift allows you to honour your mother's unwavering love and guidance by acknowledging her as the regal matriarch of her own little realm, where she reigns over a kingdom of cherished memories and unyielding affection.
The title becomes a beautiful reminder of her role as the heart and soul of the family, a nurturing force that binds everyone together. With tearful eyes and a heart filled with gratitude, she will undoubtedly cherish this gesture, appreciating the thoughtfulness and uniqueness of the gift. This Mother's Day, elevate your appreciation to the next level with a lordship title, making her feel like royalty and etching a precious memory in her heart forever.
A puzzle
A puzzle or a board game makes a wonderful present and it can be something that you enjoy together. A luxury version of her favourite game is always a lovely idea, be that chess, monopoly or scrabble or something else.
I love a puzzle and the gorgeous jigsaw puzzles for adults from Wentworth Puzzles make wonderful gifts. They are wooden puzzles in a variety of designs and they come in a sturdy box with a drawstring bag to keep the pieces in. We have a selection of these now and love how the shapes are cut out into unique whimsy shapes - they make wonderful gifts.
This Women Who Changed History Puzzle would make an excellent choice.
Books
If your mum has an Amazon wish-list of books then so much the better - just raid that for inspiration. Otherwise pick out a book that she might like - stick to the genre of what she usually reads or go for something that has won an award or features in the best-sellers lists.
A day out
I know that one of the things that I love the most is a day out with my children. Book a spa day, a lunch out or a trip to the theatre or cinema and spend the day together. Nothing is more important or more valuable than your time. Virgin Experience Days often have good offers.
Tea selection box
If your mum is a fan of herbal tea then this herbal tea selection box would make the perfect gift. Containing 45 different sachets in 9 different flavours I am sure any herbal tea fan would delight in testing them all out.
Make up and Skincare
I love to receive make up and skincare as a gift. Be careful though, your mum probably already knows what she likes. Check out her make-up bag or the bathroom cabinet and take a note of which products and perfumes she buys and opt for those.
Stanley Cup
I've been aware of the Stanley Cup for a while following Shea McGee's recommendation and they have been big in the US for a while but only just becoming noticed in the UK. So if your mum likes to keep hydrated and stay on top of trends this might just be the perfect gift this year.
I hope that this list has given you some ideas of gifts you might be able to get your mum this year. Share this post with your friends and Pin it for later...
