What is this weather about? Everyone is dressed for winter today, you can say that it's typical summer holiday weather for sure. It's tough keeping everyone entertained over the rainy summer holidays. It's expensive to take everyone out somewhere indoors and it's pretty miserable getting soaked every day.
We've been out and about a bit, but on other days like today we are spending the day inside, playing with creative and imaginative toys and snuggling up in the warm.
Luckily the girls play really nicely with their toys. Little Miss J has been really enjoying playing with Sylvanian Families lately (and her little brother has too actually!). She loves her new Cosy Cottage Starter Home and it's great for imaginative play. She loves undressing the little figures and she has other bits of Sylvanian Families sets so she sets up little families and will play with them for hours. Her little brother has been watching her and likes to get involved too. It's so nice watching his imagination develop and he talks to the figures non stop which is great for his speech too.
This is a great set because it comes with everything to get playing - a cute little cottage house, furniture, little accessories like a pan and bread and even Mrs Rabbit! It would make a perfect gift or starter set for your little one to play with on these rainy days.
Both girls have also been enjoying doing lots of crafts over the summer, especially on rainy days. The Aquabeads Disney Princess Playset saved us from boredom one morning - the girls really got stuck into setting the set up and organising all the beads. They chose a princess each to make and were able to make them themselves while I got some housework done (win win!!).
This set comes with everything that you need to make 4 different princess pictures. The girls made one each and have plenty left to make more. Of course you can buy refills for the beads and use other pictures too, or just use your imagination to make your own creation.
Little Miss J was really pleased with her finished Belle and she's taken her everywhere with her this week!
Don't worry, I haven't been abandoning Little Boy all this time! He has been enjoying reading these new Miffy books. They are so retro, I love them and he really enjoys looking at the pictures and listening to the stories. They have been a permanent fixture on his bedside table since we got them.
