As you know we are big flapjack fans in our house and here is another twist to the basic recipe...
Ingredients
- 300g oats
- 125g butter
- 125g light brown muscavado sugar
- ½ medium banana mashed
- 1 packet chocolate chips
- 3tbsp golden syrup
Method
Melt the butter in a saucepan on a low heat with the sugar and golden syrup. Add the oats and stir in the mashed banana. When the mixture is slightly cooled stir in the chocolate chips. Be quick as they'll melt and you want the chocolate to be evenly dispersed!
Pop the mixture into a silicon baking tin and cook on 180 degrees for 20 minutes or until slightly golden on the top. Leave in the tray until nearly cooled then remove and cut into slices before leaving to cool fully.
Sorry for the absence of a picture of these - they were gone too quick to take one!!
