We had a few friends of Jelly Baby's over today for a play date so we thought we would make some yummy chic chip cookies to feed the mummies and babies. Here is the recipe we used. Nice and easy and best eaten slightly warm....mmmm....
Ingredients
½ cup softened butter (64g)
½ cup caster sugar
½ cup soft brown sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 1 teaspoon hot water
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 egg
1 ½ cups plain flour
1 cup chocolate chips
Method
Beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Slowly beat in the eggs followed by vanilla, salt and dissolved baking soda. Sift in the flour and finally stir in the chocolate chips.
Shape into flattened balls and space out on a baking tray (they do spread a bit). Cook at 220 for 10 mins or until slightly golden. Cool slightly on the tray and then transfer to a wire rack.
(Makes about 12 decent size cookies).
