I love the holidays, for me they are all about spending time with my family, and with the weather being rubbish I expect we'll be snuggling up and watching some films together and eating easter eggs. We have recently treated ourselves to a new Panasonic 4K TV so I'm looking forward to watching Disney + in great quality! It is so great to have this streaming service as there are so many films on there for the whole family to enjoy including some great family easter movies on Disney Plus.
If your family is anything like ours you'll spend ages deciding what movie to watch so I thought I would share with you some what I think are fifteen of the best family movies you could watch this Easter and give you some inspiration. I've realised that the movie sphere is lacking in actual Easter themed movies but there are plenty of Disney movies that fit the bill and are perfect for watching over the easter weekend.
Here are fifteen of the best family movies to watch on Disney Plus this Easter.

"The Lion King" (1994)
A classic Disney film that tells the story of Simba, a young lion who must reclaim his throne as king of the Pride Lands. Most of us are familiar with the great songs and feel-good ending of this film - just fast forward the horrible part at the beginning!
"Moana" (2016)
A musical adventure that follows Moana, a young girl who sets sail through the Pacific ocean on a mission to save her island and restore the heart of Te Fiti. My children love singing along to the soundtrack to this movie so it makes a great choice for an easter celebration as it is very upbeat.
"Coco" (2017)
A heartwarming feature film that explores the traditions and culture of Mexico through the story of a young boy named Miguel, who dreams of becoming a musician. An ideal choice for some quiet time on Easter Sunday perhaps.
"Frozen" (2013)
An animated musical that follows the journey of two sisters, Elsa and Anna, as they try to save their kingdom from eternal winter.
"Onward" (2020)
A modern fantasy adventure that follows two elf brothers on a quest to bring back their father for one day.
"Soul" (2020)
A thought-provoking film that follows a middle-school band teacher, Joe Gardner, as he navigates the afterlife and discovers what it means to have a soul.
"Up" (2009)
An emotionally rich movie that tells the story of a grumpy old man, Carl Fredricksen, who embarks on a journey to South America with a young boy named Russell.
"The Incredibles" (2004)
A fun-filled superhero adventure that follows a family of superheroes as they try to save the world from a dangerous villain. My children love this movie, and there are follow up movies too - great if you want to get some spring cleaning done while they are entertained!
"Toy Story" (1995)
The first movie in the beloved Toy Story franchise that tells the story of a group of toys who come to life when their owner, Andy, is not around.
"Beauty and the Beast" (1991)
A classic fairy tale romance that follows the story of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman, and the Beast, a cursed prince who must learn to love and be loved in return.
"Bambi" (1942)
Worth a watch for sure because of the Easter themed animals - the deer Bambi and her sidekick young rabbit Thumper. A classic Disney computer-animated movie, Bambi is a timeless classic that teaches important life lessons about growing up, friendship, and the circle of life.
"The Chronicles of Narnia" - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (2005)
A classic tale turned into a movie - based on the first novel of the seven-book series by C.S. Lewis. It follows the adventures of four siblings who are transported to the magical land of Narnia, where they join forces with the great lion Aslan to defeat an evil witch and free Narnia from her icy grip. C.S. Lewis intertwines themes of Christianity through his work so this is actually a very thought provoking choice for Easter time, and provides a great talking point for older kids.
"Christopher Robin" (2018)
This is a live action / CGI movie that follows the story of an adult Christopher Robin, who has lost his sense of imagination and wonder due to the stresses of adulthood. He is visited by his old childhood friend, Winnie the Pooh, who takes him on a journey through the Hundred Acre Wood to rediscover the joys of life. Along the way, Christopher must learn to balance his work and family life with the importance of imagination and play. A really heartwarming film for parents and children to watch together.
"Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade" (2016)
While this isn't a movie as such but rather a short film, this is a great egg themed show which is perfect for younger children with a shorter attention span and therefore is one of the tv shows worth including in this list of best easter movies. Great for fans of the Ice Age Movie, especially those for whom their favorite character is Scrat!
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988)
This is a live-action / animated movie that takes place in a fictional version of Hollywood, Los Angeles, during the 1940s. The movie follows the story of private investigator Eddie Valiant, who is hired to solve a murder case involving the famous cartoon character, Roger Rabbit. As Eddie investigates, he discovers a conspiracy to destroy the cartoon world and replace it with a freeway. Along the way, Eddie teams up with Roger and his wife, Jessica Rabbit, to uncover the truth and clear Roger's name. The movie is known for its groundbreaking use of live-action and animation, as well as its entertaining mix of comedy, mystery, and drama. A great way to introduce your children to a great film that is considered a classic.
