If you're thinking about putting your house on the market, you want to ensure you're presenting it in the best possible light. There are lots of ways to increase the value of your home, no matter what your budget is. Whether it's some simple DIY or investments in upgrades, there are lots of options you can choose from. Here are just a few to get you started.

    Improve Floors

Let's start from the ground and go up from there. What do the floors currently look like in your home? Flooring has more of an impact than you realise and a good floor can add value to your home. There are lots of different things you can do to improve your floors, depending on what materials they're made from. For instance, laminate floors might need a deep clean, worn-out carpets might need replacing or cleaned to remove stains. You could also think about installing underfloor heating to boost the value of your home depending on your budget.

    Go Green

Speaking of heating, it could be worth looking into how energy-efficient your home is. Sustainability is becoming increasingly important and making eco-friendly investments could give your home that extra edge. Like with everything on this list, there are different routes you can follow depending on how much you're willing to spend. For instance, you could invest in renewable energy sources, such as solar panels. Or it could be something simple like using eco-friendly materials to decorate.

    Decorate

This moves us nicely on to decorating your home. There are lots of house makeover options that can add value. Go through each room in your house and ask yourself is there a way you can improve it? From checking the paint to changing light fixtures, remember that small changes can make a big difference to a room. You can make your home feel fresher. If your house has old-fashioned materials such as textured walls, it's worth replacing them with something more modern.

    First Impressions

It isn't just the interior of your home that can impact its value. You want to make sure it looks presentable from the moment people first see it. First impressions count. Kerb appeal plays an important role when it comes to selling your home. You could paint the front door, fix any loose tiles, and spruce up the garden. Window boxes are a simple, but effective way of giving your home's exterior a boost. Take time spotting these small details, there may be things you missed as you're so used to the sight of your own home.
