At the weekend our little family were invited to see Monster Jam at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. We went to see Monster Jam a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it so we were really excited to watch it again.
We started the day off by visiting the Pit Party. This is an absolute must if you have a little Monster Jam fan as you get to see all the trucks up close and meet the drivers. It's every fan's dream come true! My children loved seeing the trucks up close, it really gives you a sense of just how huge they are!
In the afternoon the main show started. Be warned, it is loud so you will want ear defenders or earplugs. The atmosphere was electric and the stadium was packed. The show started with an epic laser light show and music which really helped to amp up the mood too.
When the action started we were all on the edge of our seats! We each had chosen a Monster Truck we were supporting to win and we cheered them on through each part.
There was quite a lot of action in the first race elements with one truck getting damaged and another one retiring due to mechanical failure. As we were all supporting different trucks it was really fun watching them race against each other!
At the end of the interval there was a great little freestyle motocross show with some fantastic motorbike stunts which was really entertaining.
After the interval came the monster trucks freestyle section which is one of my favourite parts as the trucks can go wild with the crashes and stunts that they perform. As always there was some amazing action and the kids were absolutely loving it.
One of the great things we loved about the show this year was how interactive it was. You can go online on your smartphone to score the drivers and contribute to the result!
One of our favourites Gravedigger won both the freestyle and the overall competition so we were delighted with that!
We made a video of our day at Monster Jam so please do give it a watch if you want to see some of the amazing action!
Monster Jam is coming back to the UK in 2019 - I'd definitely recommend going to see it if you can. To keep updated with priority tickets and offers sign up to their newsletter here.
