Ingredients
- Mini twist pretzels (the hard type not a soft pretzel)
- orange candy melts
- Mini green M&Ms or chocolate beans
- Broken pretzel pieces
For exact quantities see the recipe card below.
Instructions
Melt the candy melts in a large bowl over a saucepan of hot water and stir with a wooden spoon until completely melted and smooth.
Alternatively you can melt melts in the microwave. Put the candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on a low setting (such as defrost) for short 30-second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted.
Dunk pretzel into the melted candy, making sure that the whole thing is covered. Give it a little shake to remove any excess.
Place the pretzels on a parchment paper or wax paper lined large baking sheet.
Straight away, before the candy sets add a green M&M and small piece of pretzel to the top of the pretzel to act as a broken pretzel stem.
Place pretzels in the fridge so that the candy sets completely before serving at room temperature.
Top tip - use a skewer or chocolate dipping forks to dip pretzels into the melted candy so that they are completely covered.

Storage
These store well for a day or so in an airtight container but they are best eaten straight away.
Variations
- You can ramp up the flavour by adding a little pinch of pumpkin pie spice to the melted candy coating.
- If you use salted pretzels this goes really well with the chocolate flavour of the coating and they make a lovely sweet / salty treat.
- If you can't find a green m&m you could also use a green chocolate chip.
Consider using a silicone liner for the cookie sheet you lay your chocolate-covered pretzels on - this saves the waste of baking paper as they are washable and reusable.
