There are many reasons why you might want to buy personalised clothing labels, they might be to label your children's clothing for school or nursery or you might want to design some labels for you to sew onto your handmade garments, to show your brand logo or washing instructions. Whatever reason you have for needing personalised clothing labels, I have some tips for you to get the most out of your order.
School name labels
You will want to find labels that are easy to put on as it is likely that you will be labelling a fair few items of clothing, especially if you have more than one child! Wunderlabel personalised labels have an iron on option which is perfect. You will want labels that can withstand washing and tumble drying too as school uniform gets washed a lot.
You will need to put your child's name on the labels, make sure you put their surname or initials in case there is more than one child with the same name in their class. A top tip is to also put your mobile phone number on the label. This has proved invaluable for us and we have had a coat, water bottle and tie returned to us because somebody kind found the stranded item and called the phone number so we could collect it.

If you have a very young child who can't read their name yet you can put a symbol on the label so that way they can recognise that the item is theirs. If you have a football mad child you could use a football symbol, or a favourite animal - something they recognise and identify with.

Think about your brand's colours and logo, choose a font that is striking but easy to read. You should choose sew on labels as they will look more professional. You can often get good deals for buying these labels in bulk too.
You could also consider putting your actual logo onto the label. This helps to cement your brand identity and makes it look more professional. Think about what sort of fabric or material you want your label to be made from - do you want it woven or satin fabric, or maybe even leather.
Personalised care labels
Adding a care label to your handmade garments is a really good idea. It means that your customer knows easily how to best care for their item and reduces the risk of the item being damaged by being washed incorrectly. The care label is also a good place to put what the item is made out of, some people prefer certain fabrics or have allergies that need to be considered. Having a care label means that your handmade item can be passed down onto others and the new owner will still be able to tell what it is made from and how to care for it.
