About Vivaia
Vivaia is a brand that produces great quality, stylish footwear in a process that doesn't harm the environment. The shoes are made from recycled plastic bottles and they have a zero waste production process. Even the packaging is green and recyclable. It is honestly so refreshing to see a company that really embraces the eco-friendly mission and looks to make a positive impact on our planet.
Vivaia ships direct to consumers meaning they have lower overheads and they can price their shoes at an affordable level, which is great to see as so many more eco-friendly brands are simply outside of the price remit of most people.
As a brand Vivaia is very transparent, sharing lots of details about their materials, sustainability and manufacturing process openly on their website. So we know that Vivaia is a great brand to shop with, now what are the shoes actually like? Read on for my Vivaia shoes review.
Vivaia Aria Pointed Toe Ballet Flats
I always wear flat shoes - since having children comfort and practicality are key for me and these Aria shoes fit the bill exactly. The black colour is a classic and goes with many different outfits and the pointed toe makes them look stylish and great with skirts, dresses and trousers alike.
They are really flexible which makes them very comfortable and I love the fact that they are breathable which will be great on a warm day. They are breathable, lightweight, anti-microbial and have an eco-friendly deodorising insole. They are made from 6 recycled bottles reclaimed from the ocean and they are also machine washable which is great news for a busy mum, always running from work to school, with visits to the beach, the farm and the park in between!
I would say that they are true to size, I am a 4.5-5 and got the size 5 and they fit well. Maybe size up if you have wide feet or are at the larger end of your size bracket. They come in a selection of colours too - I have my eyes on the yellow ones for the summer! They retail at ยฃ74.13 which is a little on the expensive side, but worth it in my opinion considering the ethical nature of the shoes.
Evermore Round Toe Sneakers
I also tried out these wonderful Evermore round toe sneakers. Perfect for days of running errands and hanging out with the kids these trainers are stylish and comfortable and very practical too.
Like the Aria shoes they are flexible and breathable and made from 6 recycled bottles. Again they are machine washable which is great as my trainers are always getting covered in mud from dog walks and I find it so easy to throw them in the washing machine to clean them. They also have great grips on the soles which makes them very steady and secure when walking.
Again, these were true to size but if you wanted to wear thicker socks I would consider sizing up.
FAQs
They are made in a factory in China that is committed to sustainability, zero waste and high standards for their workers. There is more information on their website.
They do have wider toes which is good for allowing your feet to sit naturally. They are flexible and comfortable but I would consider sizing up if you have really wide feet.
