    Best activities for stressed mums

    May 23, 2022 by Ali · Leave a Comment

    Colab post

Having children is one of the greatest joys of life, but that doesn't mean it isn't stressful. It's only natural to feel overwhelmed from time to time as a mum. In fact, most mums probably wouldn't mind holding up their hands and admitting to being stressed on a daily basis. If you've been struggling to manage your emotions then it might be time to take some time for yourself. But what activities will help you to really unwind and forget about your problems? This blog has some amazing ideas that you can get started with today.

    Going to the gym

If you're not used to working out, the gym might not be the first place that comes to mind when you want to destress. However, exercise has a beneficial impact on your mental health and can help you to feel happier. When you work out, your body releases endorphins that make you feel good and boost your mood. Liverpool's best personal trainers can help you to put together a routine that reduces stress in your life and works for your body's needs.

    Meditation

One of the best ways to feel more in control of your mental state is by meditating. Contrary to popular belief, meditation isn't about making your mind go blank - it's much more than that. It teaches you to recognise thoughts and emotions and let them pass by rather than actively engaging with them. This helps you to feel calmer and more centred. If you meditate on a regular basis, you may feel less stressed in the long run.

    Crafts

While your kids probably do lots of crafts around the house, you might don't get a chance to flex your creative muscles very often. Crafts can encourage you to take a moment of mindfulness in your busy day, allowing you to really focus on the task at hand. Don't worry if you're not very artistic, crafting isn't about being good at what you do, it's about enjoying the process. Whether you want to create jewellery from colourful beads or try your hand at embroidery, crafting is sure to bring you a little bit more peace.

    Singing

Sometimes stress can leave you feeling like you need to scream. Instead of screaming, try singing at the top of your lungs or even just humming quietly while you go about your day. The best part about singing is that you can do it at any time (within reason) and the whole family might even decide to join in. Turn up the radio or put on your favourite CD and sing along to all the catchy songs.

    Journaling

If you're struggling to quiet your mind before bed, pouring all your thoughts into a journal can give you the sense of calm you've been looking for. Stress often builds over time and needs to be released otherwise it can negatively impact your mood and ability to go about your life. Journaling allows you to say exactly what you're feeling without worrying about how other people might perceive your thoughts.
