Smileo Teeth Whitening Kit Review
Your smile is the one thing that will stand out when you see other people and you want it to look good. I've always been keen to look after my teeth so that they look good, and are healthy and strong. After all, they have to last us our whole adult lives. Also being a blogger and YouTuber means that my face and smile are often in photographs and on YouTube videos and I must admit that I want my teeth to look good.
When Smileo got in contact to review their products I was happy to. Their products are vegan and cruelty free which is important to me. I have had my teeth whitened professionally before and topped it up with at home kits so I'm no stranger to at home whitening but I haven't used a UV kit before like the one from Smileo. This kit claims to be able to whiten teeth by 8 shades in 7 days. The kit comes with a guidance strip so you can tell which shade your teeth are before you start. Mine are about a ⅔ so I'll only be able to get a shade or two brighter but that's something.
The kit was easy to use, it comes with three tubes of teeth whitening gel and a silicone mouthtray and a UV light that fits into the tray. It was really easy to use, simply squirt a small amount of the gel into the mouthtray, attach the light and put it into your mouth and turn it on. It works on your top and bottom teeth at the same time.
It wasn't uncomfortable to have it on, just a little awkward. I didn't get any discomfort or tooth sensitivity. You can use it for just 10 minutes a day for 7 weeks and I could tell a little difference after the first use and a bit more with subsequent uses. I would be careful about using the product too much, as it may weaken your tooth enamel so I would combine treatment with a remineralising toothpaste and after treatment take care to reduce the amount of stains you get on your teeth by limiting your red wine and coffee intake. Also be sure to rinse the product off properly when you are done.
Smileo also has other products in their line, including teeth whitening strips and activated charcoal powder. The teeth whitening strips are easy to use, they stick onto your teeth and you leave them on for 30 minutes before rinsing. They work well and my teeth seem brighter after using them. Again, these are to be used with the same care as the tooth whitening gel.
I think if you can't get to a dentist for a professional whitening treatment then these are an alternative to consider, especially if peroxide based products cause you tooth sensitivity. I would recommend that you do your research and use these products sparingly though, until you have reached the desired effect. Make sure that you keep your teeth in good condition by using a fluoride based toothpaste and brushing and flossing regularly and minimising your red wine and coffee intake.
