I have wanted to make one of these 'cookies in a jar' recipes for ages and this year I found the perfect recipe and thought it would be great for teacher's gifts. I bought the Kilner jars from Lakeland and printed the labels myself and tied them with pretty ribbon. I think they look pretty awesome myself!
Here is the recipe if you want to make them yourself...I've also included the printable which you can use to make the labels to go on the jars.
How to make the jars...
(These are ½ litre jars).
Ingredients
- large pinch salt
- large pinch baking powder
- large pinch bicarbonate of soda
- 55g plain flour
- 37g soft brown sugar
- 37g white caster sugar
- 32g oats
- 50g dried cranberries
- 65g white chocolate chips
Making these is really easy. Measure the first four ingredients into the bottom of the jar and give it a good stir. Then tap the jar gently on the counter so the mixture settles evenly at the bottom. Measure each ingredient on top of this in order.
Seal the jar and label with instructions.
(The maker will need to add ½ teaspoon vanilla, ½ beaten egg and 62g melted butter).
