This daffodil headband tutorial is really cute and easy to make. It makes the perfect accessory when dressing up for St David's Day. You can keep it and wear it year after year or pass it on to someone the next year.

The daffodil is the national flower of Wales and it is traditionally worn on St David's Day, which celebrates Wales' patron saint, David (Dewi sant in Welsh), on 1 March every year.
It is a great craft to make with the kids as they can do so much of it themselves and helps them to develop their cutting and painting skills. They will feel such a sense of achievement putting this together independently.
Dress your child in a green outfit, put this on their head and voila - there you have a really easy and cheap dressing up idea for St David's day.
Materials
- Children's scissors
- Pencil
- Egg box
- Coloured card
- Yellow poster paint
- Orange poster paint
- Old Headband
- Green pipe cleaners
Instructions
Cut out two cups from the eggbox. Poke little holes in the centre of each with the scissors. Paint them orange. Draw petal shapes onto the card, paint them yellow (or use yellow card!!) and cut them out. Make a hole in the end of each petal with the scissors.
When the paint is dry line up about 5 or 6 petals behind the egg box cup and poke a pipe cleaner through all the petals and the egg box, curling the end of the pipecleaner in the middle of the flower so that they hold in place.
Then bend the pipe cleaner downwards and twist around the headband so that they poke up! I re-enforced the stalk by twisting another pipe cleaner around the stem.
