    1. Candle Making

Candle making is an arts and crafts activity for children of all ages. It's simple to do and watching and smelling your lit-up candles is truly enjoyable. Plus, homemade candles make great gifts for friends and family. To get started, you'll need some candle making supplies that's widely available online and at arts and crafts stores near you. Make sure to choose a bundle that has everything you need such as candle wax, wicks, molds, essential oils, and food coloring. Be extra careful with the hot wax! Never leave your kids unsupervised when doing this activity, especially when you're dealing with fire.

    2. Paper Bag Puppets

Paper bag puppets are another easy arts and crafts project that sparks imagination and storytelling skills in children. The best part? It's budget friendly too! All you need are some paper bags (recycling works great too!), construction papers, markers, glue, and scissors. It's one way to encourage your children's creativity by having them design their own puppets. You can even add a story to make it a fantastic paper bag puppet show!

    3. Button Art

Another fun arts and crafts activity suitable for kids aged 5 and above is button art. It's a colorful project that lets you recycle old buttons and create unique pieces of artwork. All you need are buttons, glue, cardboard, and some embellishments like glitter, beads, or ribbon to decorate your button art. Once you're done you can frame it. Proudly display it in your home - less clutter, more art!

    4. Nature Mandalas

If you're looking for an activity that allows both adults and children to connect with nature, try making nature mandalas. It's a way to create artwork using natural materials like leaves, flowers, sticks, stones - plus some glue and cardboard. Experiment with colors, shapes and textures, from nature to craft captivating mandalas. Once you have finished your nature inspired artwork, you can frame it and proudly display it in your home.

    5. Playdough

Playdough is a timeless arts and crafts activity that's suitable for all ages. It offers an opportunity to enhance your kids' motor skills and unleash creativity. Also, there's something incredibly satisfying about squishing and molding playdough!

Anyone can get their hands on the ingredients as you will only need some pantry staples like flour, salt, water, oil and food coloring of your preference. For added excitement, you can include elements, like glitter, beads or sequins to create textures and effects in the playdough. Don't forget to store the playdough in an airtight container when not in use. If it happens to dry out over time, simply add water and knead until it becomes smooth again for an enjoyable playtime!

Engaging in arts and crafts activities offers children a platform to express themselves while acquiring skills along the way. Just remember to always prioritize safety in all activities and enjoy the process of creating and learning together. And most important of all, have fun!
